The difference for some industries is how much are they being affected. We (S Studio Salon & Day Spa) have seen clients lose their jobs or their spouses losing their jobs, but they still try to budget services into their income. We are still seeing them, just not as frequent. Nonetheless, we can not be substituted. People can try, but after not being happy with their outward appearance they will be back. That tied up the last three ma and pop schools here in utah. after 25 years and countless winning competitions they just couldn't keep up with rising costs. this has made me certainly think that the beauty industry is not recession proof.
