While some might assume big cities like Miami, Dallas and Chicago might serve as the most profitable cities for cosmetologists and salon owners, you may want to think again before you make your next big move. A recent InStyle.com article has shed new light on where consumers are spending big bucks on beauty.
InStyle.com's article, “The 10 Most Beauty-Obsessed Cities, According to FourSquare," discusses some of America's most beauty-centric cities based on social media data. In order to get a social media-centric view of beauty shopper's habits and concentrations across the U.S., FourSquare tabulated user “check-ins" at popular beauty stores like Sephora and Ulta. A list was created based on the top ten cities that were able to obtain over 300,000 “check ins" at beauty stores.
