Paul Mitchell Beauty Schools Partner with Local Salons for Creative Infusion

beauty-schools-creative-infusion1Local salons coming together has been a popular topic lately from the big screen on shows like Jerseylicious to local venues like Paul Mitchell Beauty Schools in Overland Park, KS. A great way for beauty school students to get more involved in their community, Creative Infusion involved six salons across the Kansas metro working with Paul Mitchell Beauty Schools to create high-end hair design and makeup looks.

The Creative Infusion project is showing these smaller sized salons that they can work with their competition (or peers) and market themselves, while growing stronger as artists. “If you have a small business you’re on your own you don’t really have those resources,” said Marty Serroque, which is why Creative Infusion is so beneficial.

It is also showing the public the beauty industry is more than just tons of hairspray and a great spray tan. Although the girls of Jerseylicious have a way of “doing it big,” a local event like Creative Infusion helps show the public what reality really is. “Reality TV has given us a way to speak from behind the chair,” says salon owner Roshanna Campbell said. “Sometimes though it can be over the top.” One of the most unique aspects of Creative Infusion was models were able to try these tips at home.

“I’m really impressed with how it turned out so I’m definitely going to take little elements from it,” said model Sarah Wildhaber. And doing just that, taking tips and creating great customer service between salon owner and client is how the word spreads and business grows.
