Before

The whole idea here is, with dark eyes you can get away with more dramatic colors. Use a primer on the lid to achieve smoother, longer-lasting and crease-proof eye shadow application.

We are starting with a dark brick colored base on Katie’s lid. This has a high shimmer effect, which is great for night time. But don’t hit the clubs just yet! We have a few more things to do.

Next we will define the eye crease with a purple shadow and then a black. Do your best to smoothly blend those colors!

Put a light colored shadow on the upper portion of the lid to add some drama.

After you’ve completed the top portion of the eye, line the bottom lid with a mix of the purple and black.
The purple alone would be too bright, and the black would be too harsh. Mixing them together works perfectly.

Then apply a black mascara to the upper and lower lashes. We finished up by filling in Katie’s eyebrows with a brown brow shadow.

There you have it. Simple steps to a sultry sheen that really accents those beautiful eyes!
