The School
Here at the American Institute of Education (A.I.E.) we're celebrating our 24th year by offering a limited number of scholarships!  When you contact us through this site, type a capital "S" after your first name to alert us that you specifically want scholarship information.

Our electrology programs are offered year round and you can begin your program at any time. Theory can be done online or in school. You can take written tests online as many times as you like, and practical tests are given in school in a pleasant, stress-free environment. Every electrology program we offer includes the practical management knowledge necessary to start your own practice.

Who Can Attend
If you are at least 17 years of age and have either a high school diploma or have passed the GED, you can attend our school. Those with life experience who can pass our ability-to-benefit test may also enroll.

Our Online Academy
All California residents as well as most residents of states and countries with different training requirements, can elect to take their theory online. At A.I.E. we customize programs to meet most state training requirements. Students attending from states that do not license Electrologists (there are 17 non-regulated states), can also elect to take their theory through our Online Academy. Because training standards vary from state-to-state and country-to-country, we encourage you to contact us for clarification on your training options. Many of our students can select from training options that include 150 and 325 hour courses. Regardless of where you are from, participating in our Online Academy enables you to shorten the number of hours spent at our Santa Ana campus where you'll complete the hands-on practical portion of your training.

Completing your theory online allows you to work at your leisure from the comfort of your home. You have access to our Online Academy from any computer with an Internet connection, and you have the option with each of our programs to proceed at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Please note that both theory and practical instruction can be taken at the same time. If you reside in another State or country, you may elect to complete your theory first prior to attending school for your practical training at our Santa Ana, CA campus.

How We Make It Possible
While at our Santa Ana campus, students can attend school full or part-time. Complete your training in 4 months or less, depending on the program you select or take up to two years. The choice is all yours! Day, evening and weekend hours offer flexible scheduling options. Tuition includes your textbooks, study guides, all tests, your clinic kit, and all disposable supplies used in our school clinic. And, all graduates receive a graduation gift of their first year membership in the American Electrology Association.
