The demand for trained electrologists is
huge and growing. Hair removal is a multi-billion
dollar industry and electrolysis is still
the only permanent method of hair removal.
The School
The American Institute of Education
(A.I.E.) is celebrating its 21st year of
training electrologists. Our staff of state
approved, Licensed Professional Electrologists
are both practicing professionals and certified
electrology instructors.
Our course is offered year round and students
can begin the program at any time. Students
can study theory either online or in school
and take written and practical tests in
a pleasant, stress-free environment. The
course of study includes the practical knowledge
necessary to start your own practice.
Who Can Attend
If you are at least 17 years of age and
have either a high school diploma or have
passed the GED, you can attend our school.
Those with life experience who can pass
our State ability-to-benefit test may also
enroll.
Residents of most states which license Electrologists
(such as Oregon and New Mexico) can complete
our program by attending our Long Beach
campus full-time in as little as 4 months.
Student housing assistance is available.
Our Online Academy
Residents of California as well as states
that do not license Electrologists, including
Washington State and Arizona, can elect
to take the theory portion of our program
through our Online Academy. California residents
take our state licensed 600-hour course,
while residents of non-licensed states may
select one of multiple training options
including 150 and 325-hour courses. Participating
in our Online Academy enables you to shorten
the number of hours spent at our Long Beach
campus where you'll complete just the practical
portion of your training.
The online theory portion of the program
can be taken at your leisure from the comfort
of your home. You can participate in A.I.E.'s
Online Academy from any computer with an
Internet connection. You can complete our
online programs at a pace you feel comfortable
with. Upon completing the program, you will
be contacted by our staff to begin the "hands
on" training at our Long Beach, CA campus.
How We Make It
Possible
While at our Long Beach campus, students
can attend school full or part-time completing
their training in as little as 4 months
or as long as two years. Day, evening and
weekend hours offer flexible scheduling
options. Tuition includes your textbook,
study guides and a supply kit that enables
you to work in the school clinic.
Tuition can be paid one of three ways:
- "Pay as You Go" interest-free loan
option: make monthly payments after a
low initial deposit.
- Low-Interest Government-Backed SLM
Financial Loans: interest-only payments
can be made while you attend school (with
payments as little as $10 per month),
with up to 15 years to pay.
- WIA funding, EDD funding and Veteran's
Affairs Montgomery G.I. bill funding options
are available to qualified applicants.
