Cosmetology

American Beauty Academy - Lancaster currently offers a 1,250-hour Cosmetology program that prepares students for their licensing examination and entry-level careers in the cosmetology and beauty industry. Our intensive, attentive educational approach allows students to thoroughly learn the material in a way that works best for them. Our goal is to graduate productive members of the cosmetology industry who are invaluable assets to clients in any salon setting.

The Cosmetology program at American Beauty Academy teaches course material through demonstrations, live models, audiovisual aids and basic classroom instruction - combining practical application with the theories of cosmetology. Students also participate in drills, role-playing, discussions, hands-on practice sessions throughout the program, and evaluations through homework and practical and theoretical examinations.

The best part of our Cosmetology program? You get to practice your skills on real clients! Under the supervision of an instructor in our student clinic, your education can be applied immediately, as you actively prepare to transition to your cosmetology career.

Barbering

American Beauty Academy-Lancaster currently offers a 1250-hour program that prepares students for their licensing examination and entry-level careers in the barbering industry. We offer an intensive, attentive educational approach that is hands on and interactive.  This allows students to thoroughly learn the material in a way that works best for them. Our goal is to graduate productive members of the barbering industry, who are invaluable assets to employers as well as productive and knowledgeable employees in the work force.

School of Barbering employs highly skilled and experienced instructors that combine the latest teaching techniques with a wealth of knowledge and experience.  Infusing this knowledge with state of the art technology will enable us to teach self-sufficiency, to promote successful employment in the field of barbering and to contribute in building entrepreneurial minds.  We focus on professionalism, along with self-help skills that are valuable in life and successfully working in barbershops and salons.

The barbering program at American Beauty Academy is hands on, interactive and teaches "the lost art of shaving," through demonstrations, live models, audio visual aids and basic classroom instruction; combining practical application with barbering theory.

 Coursework and Objectives

In our programs, students will study a variety of different areas of the industry, covering hair care, nail technology, makeup and skin care. Courses include:

• Thermal Pressing and Styling

• Facials, Makeup and Skin Care

In addition, you have the opportunity to learn the business practices for owning and operating your own salon. Learn about advertising, first aid rules and procedures, how to prepare for and complete job interviews, and more. We also make sure to help you prepare for an entry-level career in a salon, providing help with resumes and interviews.
