Career Center, incorporated in 1972, has
been defining beauty in the North and Northwest
Chicago suburbs for more than three decades.

Our highly skilled team of instructors has
the dedication and passion to nurture each

Cosmetology license. Our Educational system

Our busy clinic caters to over 500 clients
weekly, offering a vast array of services
while also providing students with strong
hands-on training to sharpen their skills

Philosophy
and Objectives
Arlington Academy began as a dream of bringing
quality education and state-of-the-art Cosmetology
training to the Northwest Suburbs. The goal
is to maintain the highest industry standards
while providing a professional, ethical,
and enjoyable atmosphere of learning.
Nearly 40 years later, Arlington Academy's
reputation speaks for itself. Thousands
have graduated from Arlington Academy, and
are successfully employed at all levels
in the industry. You can find them working
as stylists, color artists, salon owners,
platform artists, theatrical and movie artists,

 Curriculum
Arlington Academy goes beyond the basics
by incorporating exciting and trend-setting
techniques as well as salon fundamentals.
Pick and choose from a variety of innovative
hands-on TRENDS electives, offering workshops
in a variety of topics such as razor cutting,
advanced foiling, color formulations, advanced
facials, customized make-up, and stage make-up.
Arlington Academy teaches the Milady curriculum,
the number one recommended curriculum by
the Illinois State Board Licensing agency.
Consequently, our pass rate at the State
Board frequently averages 100%!
What's New
At Arlington Academy we provide
our students with unique opportunities to
excel and experience information and activities
outside of the normal curriculum.
Salon Visits
Salon Coccole, an upscale salon in Lake
Zurich, visited our school providing an
entertaining afternoon of tips, trends,
and techniques unique to their salon. Elea
(an Arlington Academy graduate!) showed
new foiling techniques for copper highlights.
Donna presented a modern version of the
classic bob while using clippers. Michael
had a wide variety of tips on how to create
a one-of-a-kind updo, including the new
technique of "lacing." Lucky students were
chosen as models!
This 2-hour class was filled with fun, informative
and usable techniques, and a special invitation,
for anyone interested, to fill out an application
to join their staff!
Field Trips
A group of students participated in a day
long spa experience at the Bioelements Learning
Center in Des Plaines. They enjoyed a full
day of facials, make-up and body wraps,
and returned to school filled with enthusiasm
for the customized Bioelements line of make-up
and facial products.
The students earned a certificate in Bioelements
training and are looking forward to inviting
models of their own in to Arlington Academy
to experience a Bioelements facial and make-over.
