In January 2005, a branch campus was opened in Shreveport, Louisiana, to serve that area's career educational needs.

Career Technical College has always been responsive to market demands and the needs of the local business community. As the College strives to provide individual career training appropriate for employment, every effort is made to maintain its long-standing reputation for quality education and its commitment to contribute to the growth and prosperity of the communities it serves.

Cosmetology

The Cosmetology program is designed to provide competency-based knowledge, scientific/art principals, and hands on fundamentals associated with the Cosmetology Industry. CTC's advanced approach provides a simulated salon environment which enables students to develop manipulative skills and knowledge that can lead to an entry-level career in the field of Cosmetology. Upon completion of the program, the student will be prepared to take the Louisiana State Board licensing examinations. Employment opportunities may include beauty salons, spas, and other related businesses as a stylist, salon manager or owner, color specialist, skin/nail specialist, educator, platform or make-up artist, manufacture's representative, cosmetic rep, and more.

The Cosmetology Instructor program, is a progressive course with emphasis on teaching and learning styles, course/curriculum development, evaluation methods as well as other topics. The objective is to give the student the knowledge necessary to teach and advise students on hair, skin, and nails. Upon successful completion of this program, the graduate will receive a certificate, and is prepared for an entry-level position as a Cosmetology Instructor. Graduates of this program are eligible to sit for the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art licensure Examination.
