Welcome
Fortis College believes that the needs of today's complex employment market make it necessary for an individual to posses every available competitive advantage.

At Fortis College, we train individuals for professional employment in the Cosmetology Arts and Sciences. Our education is geared to the needs of employers who have hired our graduates, and we use methods that encourage students to develop not only their skills, but also their professional image. Our objective is to offer our students the education that prepares them for entry into a new career.

Aesthetics / Skincare Diploma
The The Aesthetics Skincare program provides students training in the traditional holistic approach to skin care and includes additional training in the areas of make up and color analysis, mask and spa therapies, hair removal, enzyme treatments, pressure points massage, body wrapping, Microdermabrasion and hot stone treatments. Students are introduced to medical pharmaceutical product protocols and will learn the principles of effective retailing and general business development as it relates to the practice of the skincare professional. Graduates from the program will demonstrate a basic and advanced understanding of the structure and function of the skin and how to apply skin care treatments through the effective utilization of product and equipment protocols.

The Aesthetics Skincare Program prepares students for registration in the state of Florida as a registered facial specialist and certification in body wrapping. The registered graduate is qualified for entry-level employment as a registered facial specialist with training critical for employment opportunities in resort spas and medical facilities. The graduate can demonstrate communication and employability skills and can apply professional and appropriate ethics to all areas of the job. .

Career Services
The Career Services Department at Fortis College can provide assistance to currently enrolled students and graduates. Services of the department include job search assistance and guidance to the students and graduates as they seek employment in their chosen fields.

Students attending Fortis College are required to complete all paperwork as directed by the Career Services Department and to participate in an Exit Seminar as a graduation requirement. This should be completed prior to the start of an externship if applicable, but in all cases, no later that 30 days prior to the last scheduled day of class.

Prospective employers may request training-related information about students they could consider hiring. The student's academic and attendance patterns, as well as observable professional behavior are factors that may be considered by prospective employers. It is, therefore, the student's responsibility to maintain high personal and professional standards in each of these areas in order to enhance future career opportunities.

Recent graduates and students approaching graduation receive first priority for job search assistance services. Part-time job search assistance (unrelated to major) is available to students currently attending classes and making satisfactory progress. Students desiring this service should establish and maintain contact with the Career Services Department during the scheduled office hours.

Financial Assistance
The purpose of financial assistance is to aid those students in financial need who are seeking post-secondary education. A person who wishes to apply for financial assistance must meet all eligibility requirements. Application for financial assistance does not guarantee eligibility.

Student Application for Federal Title IV Funds requires the applicant:

  • Must be enrolled as a student at an eligible institution in an eligible program.
