Our Mission
The Champlain Institute is registered and approved as a private career college under the Private Career Colleges Act. Our goal is to provide the business community with qualified and well trained graduates that are ready to enter the business world as professionals in their chosen field.

We are a professional facility, providing curriculum that teaches modern techniques and therapies, using state-of-the-art equipment. The Faculty of Aesthetics offers full and part time programs at both the certificate and diploma levels. Our instructors are qualified professionals with a minimum of three years experience in their subject matter. The success of our students is our highest priority.

Well trained aestheticians require the opportunity to apply the theory learned in the classroom and to practice the techniques on clients under proper supervision. The Champlain Institute will operate a full service day spa that will offer our students the opportunity to work in their field during their study period, thereby gaining hands-on experience prior to entering the workforce.

Dorothy DiBiase and Maria Pacheco, the co-directors of the Champlain Institute are passionate about post secondary training. Dorothy and Maria have both managed private career colleges and their expertise includes marketing, administration, academics, student loan administration and student services. They believe that the location, the quality of the curriculum and staff, together with their expertise and passion will make this college the foremost private career college in Ontario specializing in aesthetics and business.

Programs Offered
Aesthetics Diploma
This program equips students with the essential skills required to work in today's fast-paced spa environment. Throughout the program focus is placed on professional image, code of ethics and the delivery of great customer care. In addition to all of the technical skills developed with instructor-led classes, a strong portion of the program ensures that practical application of subject matter is strictly followed.

Students will gain knowledge in skin care and skills in a variety of services provided by spa therapists. An understanding of business management skills for salon and spas will also be covered.

Make up Artistry Certificate
This program equips students with the knowledge necessary to recognize and use colour and colour combinations to enhance facial features. The students will be exposed to the various techniques and product applications currently used in the industry. In addition, the student will be provided with a full professional make-up kit for daytime, evening, bridal and fashion artistry use. A strong focus will be placed on client care. The program will address business and employment opportunities as well as day to day operations

The Medical Aesthetician Certificate
The Medical Aesthetician Advanced Certificate program introduces the spa therapist or aesthetician to new technologies being used in medical spas today. As anti-aging and beauty enhancement demands are at an all time high, this program is designed to train the student to perform intensive non-invasive client treatments to achieve optimum looking results.

This Advanced Certificate equips students with the essential skills necessary to use microdermabrasion, laser based and transdermal electro diffusion systems to treat a vast range of skin imperfections with immediate visible results. In addition, a strong focus will be placed on client care. The program will address business and employment opportunities as well as day to day applications of these technologies.

The Spa Manager Diploma
The Spa Manager Diploma program equips students with the essential business skills and solid management capabilities required to face the challenges of today's spa/salon environment. Over the course of this program, focus is placed on day to day operations. In addition, students learn how to develop effective soft skills such as; leadership, team building, strategic planning and decision making skills that are critical to the success of the spa business. Students will gain a thorough understanding of financial accounting principles, software applications and effective sales and marketing concepts. This profession is an excellent choice for those individuals who are looking for a challenging, personally satisfying, financially rewarding and sophisticated career.
