Cosmetology
LEARNING BY DOING
At first, the COBA Academy cosmetology course can seem overwhelming, but once you experience it, you’ll appreciate our step-by-step approach – from the basics to advanced concepts and techniques. Before you know it, you will be a senior student working with real clients, demonstrating your mastery of hair care, makeup, and nail technology.

The objective of the Cosmetology Course is to develop in the student the practical skills, theoretical knowledge and professional attitudes for success in the profession and to qualify and equip the student to pass the California State Board licensing examination. After the graduate has successfully passed their state board exam, they are qualified to work as a licensed cosmetologist in any licensed facility in the State of California. They may cut hair, perform hair styling, perform phases of manicuring, apply makeup and give skin care (within the scope of the license) for profit.

The course is can be completed in less than ten months of full time attendance. More than 25% of course time is devoted to technical instruction, which consists of various learning activities in a classroom situation. The balance of the course time is devoted to practical operations, in which students develop and practice cosmetology skills under the supervision of licensed instructors in actual working conditions.

Our Basic Mission
At COBA Academy, our primary mission is to deliver the skills and knowledge necessary to pass the State Board Cosmetology Examination. COBA is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NACCAS), is approved by the California Bureau of Private Postsecondary Vocational Education, and is licensed by the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. Memberships include the California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools and the American Association of Cosmetology Schools.
