I went to CSA during the early stages of COVID and had a relatively good experience with my teachers in esthetics. She was phenomenal and really cared about her students, unfortunately she cannot carry the school. i had multiple unsavory experiences with the barber teacher Mr Alex. He is one of the most arrogant people i've ever encountered. He refused to wear masks when students were sent home for refusing. Also he blurted out in front of our classroom that our classmate (who was black) "can't fool anyone" with the wig she chose to wear. He also made comments regarding girls' weight. Also for esthetics they DO NOT teach you, airbrush makeup application or spray tanning or lash extensions, all of these lessons we spent a few minutes talking about and i was unable to use in a professional field. Sketchy school with a few good eggs but you're probably better off going to pivot point

CSA is a really good cosmetology school. The owner, Ned is a great stylist who is extremely passionate about our industry! He has studied with the best from around the world and loves to share his knowledge with the educators and students! I have seen 1st hand the quality of stylist come from the school, I highly recommend.

I’d just like to start off by saying Dita is an amazing teacher and person. For her alone I’d rate this place 5 stars. I’ve had clients in the working world ask where I went to school and when I mention her they all say “she makes great estheticians” she’s very knowledgeable and really pushes you to be the best you can be. As for my overall school experience there were some bumps in the road. I feel as though the esthetics program is over looked. It’s mostly a cosmetology based school. You can see that when you walk in, the esthetics program is kinda just shoved into a corner I would’ve loved to have more space to work and over all just an upgrade on a lot of the equipment we had available to us. As usual the school prepares you to pass your state board everything else you need to do your research. I’ve recommended this school to so many just because again Dita makes it worth the minor fixes it needs!

Upon completion of your program at Cosmetology & Spa Academy, you should be prepared to take the Illinois state board exam. Once you pass your exam, you can be on your way into the exciting world of beauty. We also provide resume building assistance, keep an active job board, write letters of recommendation, host job fairs and provide financial aid for those who qualify.
