School
We are a contemporary school
of makeup artistry providing education in
all the different modalities: fashion, bridal,
photography, runway, video, stage, film,
and television. Lectures, demonstrations,
audio-video presentations, and hands-on
guided practice maximize our training for
both beginners and experienced makeup artists.
Students study with award winning celebrity
artists who are dedicated to excellence
in their craft. They share their skills,
"real world" experiences, and trade secrets
with ceaseless passion.
Multi-Media Makeup
Artistry Program 140 hours
The Multi-Media Makeup Artistry program
teaches the techniques that are demanded
of today's makeup artists. Students master
the basics of corrective makeup and go on
to the more complex. Hands-on guided practice
each day helps students refine their skills,
develop confidence, and acquire the necessary
knowledge to work in every facet of the
industry.
Fashion Makeup
Artistry Program 315 hours
With specific media makeup training and
a first class portfolio, makeup artists
can earn a very lucrative income. This program
prepares students for work in the fashion
and cosmetic industries. Students polish
their skills working with models and photographers.
Makeup techniques for Print Photography,
HDTV, Music Video, Runway and the Stage
are all covered.
Production Makeup
Artistry Program 490 hours
This is our master program. It prepares
students to work with actors, models, photographers,
and TV, video & film production companies.
This program covers the knowledge, techniques,
and on-set experience required for entry-level
employment in the entertainment industry.
It is consistent with the criteria required
for membership in the major Makeup Artists
& Hairstylists Union Locals.
Course Descriptions

Fundamental Makeup
Technique MA1 70 clock hours
This class builds a strong foundation in
the basic techniques of beauty makeup artistry.
The curriculum includes:
- The Essential Principles of Application
- Artistic Color Theory
- Sanitation & The Tools of the Trade
- Facial Geometry & Corrective Techniques
- Current Looks & Trends
- Mature Makeup
- Camera Ready Bridal Makeup
- Multi-Cultural Makeup
Airbrush Makeup
& Tanning MA3 14 clock hours
Airbrushing makeup is the preferred technique
for digital photography and high definition
television. This class covers basic application,
body art, and airbrush tanning.
High Fashion Photographic
Makeup MA4 21 clock hours
This course is an introduction to makeup
for print work and runway. Students what
it is like to work closely with photographers
and models on photo shoots, music videos,
and runway shows.
Intro
to Make-up for Film & Television MA5
28 clock hours
This course teaches the fundamentals to
work in television and film, music videos,
commercials, daytime television, sitcoms,
news and films. Different styles of makeup,
terminology, pre-production responsibilities,
the actual shoot day, tools of the trade,
and special effects are all included.
Professionalism:
Marketing Yourself MA6 7 clock
hours
A thorough critique of each individual's
makeup skills and career goals prepares
each student to enter the job market as
a professional makeup artist. Students learn
how to build their portfolio, create comp
cards, a winning resume, and prepare for
interviews.
Makeup for Print,
Music Video, Runway & Stage MA7
105 clock hours
Students work with designers, models, creative
directors and photographers. This course
covers the techniques used for print advertising,
catalog layouts, fashion editorial work,
music videos, runway shows, black & white
photography, HDTV, and the stage. Student's
work is critiqued on camera and captured
in six photo shoots.
Hairstyling for
Production Makeup Artists MA9
35 clock hours
Production make-up artists must be able
to style hair. The Hairstyling for Production
course teaches hair styling techniques for
commercial, editorial, and fashion work.
Students explore period and fantasy looks,
and capture their work in a high fashion
fantasy photo shoot.
Body Art Airbrushing
MA10 21 Clock Hours
Body painters work frequently in television
commercials, print advertising, special
events, and in films, especially in science
fiction. This course teaches body contouring,
lingerie, tribal art, super heroes, and
painting on clothes.
Fashion Portfolio
Building MA11 14 Clock Hours
Each student works as a 'make-up artist/stylist'
on a fashion shoot collaborating with a
professional photographer and models. The
result is the beginning a strong diversified
fashion portfolio showcasing each artist's
talent. Upon graduation, students receive
a CD of all of their work.
Character Make-up
for Film & TV MA12 175 clock
hours
Special FX training is necessary to work
in the theater, film & television industries.
This course teaches how to transform actors
into whatever the script requires. Topics
covered:
