So this is my second time coming. First time was just ‘feel out ‘the place. so I kept it simple. - wash flat iron and trim. ASHLEY was wonderful! and she had Eva help with the curl bump. EVA was amazing as well! Now I’m back for the second time and I am letting Eva cut my hair to give me a bit more volume. I will be back, the service is GREAT and the price is so reasonable!! Okay so this place is amazing. I have been here twice for cornrows and each time was amazing. I have been natural for 7 years and empire was the first salon I chose to go to to get my hair professionally done since I went natural and I was not disappointed. I was nervous at first because I have long and thick 4C hair. My nerves were immediately put at ease after I checked in. Mind you, I didn't have an appointment either. The culture at this school is beautiful, healthy, and so peaceful. I can tell that the instructors encourage the students to communicate with their clients in a polite, supportive, and nonjudgmental way. I love seeing the students asking other students and instructors for help when they are unsure. That let's me know that the school is actually a safe space for everyone in their to feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable. I cannot thank Ebony enough for being a braid magician with my hair. She was so sweet, helpful, confident, patience, and kind. Both times I got my hair braided, Ebony took care of me and I'm so happy but also sad she graduated lol. I'm definitely going to be back! Also another shout-out to Ms. Simpson for holding her students and the school down during rushes.

Plus you'll apply your skills on your mannequins using your professional student kit. As part of your new student kit you will receive the Career Success Tablet. Your textbooks and curriculum are downloaded onto your tablet. As you progress through your training, you'll have the confidence to work in a student salon environment with guests.
