Most exciting of all....House of Heavilin is a Pivot Point Member school.
The schools were founded by George and Dorothy Heavilin in 1953. House of Heavilin began with the goal of training highly qualified Cosmetologists and we have attempted to maintain a level of education that over 2,500 graduates can be proud of.
Mission and Goals
To produce well-qualified graduates in Cosmetology and its related sciences that salons want to employ.
To produce graduates that are technically qualified, professional in attitude and habits and accomplished in the personal skills needed for success.
We offer the following four programs which vary by location.
This program is designed to prepare you for licensing as a Cosmetologist. You will be trained in haircutting for ladies and men, hair design and finishing techniques, long hair design, permanent waving, color design and communication skills. A small portion of the class also covers basic manicuring and skin care.
House of Heavilin is proud to offer the Pivot Point method of training for our cosmetology students. Pivot Point's Scientific Approach™ curriculum is a set of great course books and DVD's that are used throughout the students training.
The Nail Technician program is designed for those who are interested in the manicuring profession. The basic skills of manicures, pedicures, sculptured nails, tips/overlays and various wrap techniques are covered. The Nail Tech program is available at our Blue Springs campus.
The Instructor Training Program at House of Heavilin is designed to prepare you for licensing as a Missouri Cosmetology or Nail Tech Instructor.
The Esthetics program is designed to prepare the student for a career in the skin care and spa treatment industry. Training will be held at House of Heavilin's facility in Blue Springs. Training includes treatments such as herbology, aromatherapy, enzyme therapy, microdermabrasion, machine treatments, stone therapy, full body masks, acne regimens, waxing methods, advanced chemical peels, training on light therapy machines and make-up application. Also, House of Heavilin schools are the only schools in the area to offer eye lash extension training with the option to be certified.
Financial Aid is available to those who qualify.
We use the FAFSA, which is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The application is used to apply free for federal student grants and loans. Funds are provided, if you qualify, by the U.S. Department of Education.
