this is easily the worst school i have ever been to. i SEVERELY regret not doing more research before attending this school. every single day i find out something worse about it. if you plan to go to esthetician school here GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. they do not care about the esthetician program. the “job placement” is a complete joke. the woman in charge of job placement threatens to stalk you and spam text/email you until you tell her where you’re working even though she offers zero help to get a job. she also had a practice interview with one of my classmates and was scrolling on her computer the entire time and asked her two interview questions, and then gave her a D. She made another fellow peer wait for FOURTY MINUTES to interview her. They do not care about placing you in a job, they just want to know where you’re working so they can take credit for it. they don’t even bother having any spas attend the “career fairs”. every machine is old and barely functioning. the spa is way too small for the amount of students that go here. one of the two nice beds in the spa is broken. the rags we have to use are old, stained, and cheap. we constantly run out of products that are a necessity to perform services and go DAYS without them being restocked. since they don’t spend our money on new supplies or products for us, i’ll tell you what they DO spend our money on: grills, ingredients for pancakes, gift cards for other students, random snacks, and stuff that doesn’t matter. I was also promised a skincare kit and i never received it. i also had to pay for my entire board kit out of pocket, despite paying 11k DOLLARS to attend this POS program. They don’t even pretend to care about estheticians, all they care about is your money. the education i have received is sub par and most of what i learned has been taught by youtube or by google. the only saving grace this school has is ms heather. she deeply cares about the success of her students and makes learning in the classroom educational and fun. if it wasn’t for her i would demand a refund. i learned everything by asking her questions, and nothing from the curriculum provided by the school. the environment here is reminiscent to a high school environment, as the teachers do not care or treat you professionally and often talk down to you like you’re an incompetent child. they constantly preach “showing up for yourself” but i have received absolutely no support from any staff in the school except ms heather. i do not feel prepared to enter the spa environment. Also one of the teachers called my black classmate ashy and told him his hair was unprofessional. if you are considering going here, please don’t! save yourself before it’s too late! don’t let them talk you up about all the great benefits here …. they’re not true and every promise they make to you falls through. please, please DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!

When I was a student here I experienced teachers gossiping about other students in front of their current class, teachers complaining to others about how inconvenient it was for them to lecture during the evening hours, and an instructor who could not pronounce the medical terms she was lecturing on. The medical textbooks are out of date and some still teach about procedures that have since been deemed harmful. The program is four times more expensive than competing schools and the administration will attempt to get students to recruit others for their "Circle of Hope" program which is really just a means of funneling more money into the school. It's clear the school's main concerns are to make sure they are the first returned result on a Google search for Theraputic Massage, and to make it incredibly easy to enroll. The classes are designed to make it nearly impossible to fail (the answers to the tests will be given to the class) in order to accelerate students through the program at a breakneck speed without ensuring they are actually learning material to pass a licensure test. The primary concern of the staff in charge seems to be making sure students follow the dress code instead of addressing any of these issues. Large components of the coursework are also online which is not made clear to students beginning in the program. For a hands on oriented degree like massage, the failure to communicate that a significant amount of classes are entirely the opposite was disappointing. When I transferred out of the program the director of education called to confirm my decision and I told him it was 90% likely that I would be leaving. That night when I went to class my door badge and student portal had been deactivated and there was no exit meeting or official paperwork issued to indicate the end of my attendance. Furthermore, as I attempted to continue schooling at a different program, IBMC's disorganization presented itself again. It took nearly three months for the school to officially submit a cancellation of my pending federal funds for the rest of the program. This was after multiple phone calls and meetings with financial aid, and caused me to incur a late fee for class tuition at my new school as I was waiting for federal funds to transfer over and it took IBMC so long to start this process that I missed the deadline to pay for class. They also insisted I could not receive a refund for my textbooks even though I was only in possession of one for two days after the start of a class I would not be taking, and they charged me for a massage table and a "technology kit" that I was never awarded. This was something I was able to get refunded however, only after I requested to see the ledger of my charges and would have otherwise gone unnoticed. The first correspondence I received from the school after my departure was a bill for $1770 with a huge "Past Due" stamp on it and no explanation of where the expenses came from. For four classes, one of which was a pointless "Psychology of Success" class where we watched Ted Talks, one of which was the Medical Term class lead by the unqualified instructor, I now have nearly $7000 in expenses. Please dodge this moneygrab, and look elsewhere.

Love this place for a massage but really wish they would have an environmentally friendly way of celebrating graduates instead of pounds of plastic confetti strewn all over the parking lot that is not cleaned up. Please do better for the environment!!! It will end up in the poudre.

Therapeutic Massage is a branch of health care that works to improve a person's health and well-being through the hands-on, systemized manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues of the body easing pain and tension.

Career opportunities for Massage Therapists are abundant and lead to employment in spas, clinics, physicians' offices, hotels, and fitness centers. Some therapists also are also able to travel to clients' homes or offices.

Many massage therapists enter the field with the goal of owning their own massage-related practice.

At IBMC, you'll receive constant support and one-on-one interaction throughout your classroom experiences.
