It is International Academy's
mission to provide an opportunity to achieve
a quality education for a group of learners
who have the ability to benefit from the
programs in the field of Cosmetology Arts
and Sciences and/or related or unrelated
fields.
The primary objective of International Academy
is to provide clear-minded students the
education and practical experience necessary
to become either a Licensed Professional
Cosmetologist, Nail Technician, Skin Care
Specialist, Hair Removal Specialist, and
Spa Specialist.
Training at the academy meets or exceeds
the standards established by the U.S. Department
of Education, Florida Board of Cosmetology,
Commission for Independent Education, Board
of Massage Therapy and NACCAS (National
Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts
& Sciences).
Programs
Cosmetology
Our cosmetology students pride themselves
in having engaged in an intensive course
of study and discovery which will guide
them to success, high achievement, and a
mastery of accomplishment. At the International
Academy, the student's time is spent initially
in theoretical as well as practical work.
The goal is to establish thorough and complete
knowledge of cosmetology as well as good
professional habits. The program consists
of demonstrations, lectures and examinations.
The scheduling at the beginning of the cosmetology
program is primarily classroom work. The
latter portion is the actual application
of all phases on live models and mannequins
under constant supervision of our professional
instructors.
Nail Technician
The International Academy teaches a full
program of nail beautification and artistry
preparing the student who desires to be
considered a professional in the field as
a Nail Technician. Professionalism is achieved
through pride, competency and efficiency.
The International Academy instructs the
student in all phases of: nail art, artificial
nails (nail tips, sculptured nails and nail
wrapping), sanitation, manicuring, pedicuring;
plus, personal ethics, salon management
and employer/employee/client relations.
 Skin
Care, Hair Removal & Spa Training
The International Academy teaches a full
program of skin care and hair removal esthetics,
professional spa training, hydrotherapy,
and body treatments; preparing the student
who desires to be a professional in the
field of esthetics, and helping with the
knowledge, experience, skills and necessary
skin care fundamentals to enter any phase
of the spa and esthetics industry. Our goal
is to broaden the scope and horizons of
a Skin Care Specialist and Spa Professional.
The International Academy is a fully equipped
high-end day spa/salon training facility.
Students will have breakthrough knowledge
of the skin and all its elements including
but not limited to structure and its functions,
as well as the proper procedures behind
the use of certain skin care treatments.
This curriculum will also train students
in the latest treatments of spa therapies,
hydrotherapy in addition to hair removal.
The curriculum will also cover subjects
such as understanding the skin, sterilization
and sanitation, mask and spa therapy. Services
including facials, seaweed therapy, body
wraps exfoliating peels, relaxation treatments,
stress recovery, waxing and massage of the
neck and face. This curriculum also includes
training in the latest treatments such as
spa therapies, hydrotherapy, and paramedical
facial treatments such as microdermabrasion,
ultrasonic facials, and oxygen therapy
Full Specialty
The International Academy Full Specialty
Program objective is to teach a complete
program of specialties such as Hair Removal,
Nail Technician, Skin Care, Professional
Spa Training, Body/Facial Treatment Training,
and receptionist. Develop in students the
skills necessary to become a registered
Full Specialist in the State of Florida,
and to meet the needs of the day spa and
salon community in which they will enter.
The objective of the Full Specialty Program
is to gain the knowledge and skills that
will prepare a cross-trained individual
for work in the business of esthetician,
nail technology and receptionist. An International
Academy Full Specialty graduates are highly
trained in technical applications, business
skills and professional image. A strong
emphasis will be placed on retailing, customer
service and personal and professional advancement.
