The Josef's tradition spans more than fifty
years and includes many of the leaders of
our industry. We serve our students with
one objective - to provide the best educational
experience possible to prepare you for a
successful career in the beauty industry.
 We
offer competitive tuitions because we
are locally owned and operated. - Owners-Josef Olivieri and his son Mario
Olivieri along with the many other talented
and progressive instructors, combine to
offer over 268 years of combined experience.
- We use only quality products, including
Bed Head, Aveda, Goldwell, and Creative
Nails, educating you on what you will
most likely use in a successful salon.
- We support and encourage our students
to enter Hair Show Competitions. This
year at the Heartland Beauty Expo, Chicago,
we took home 5 out of 8 trophies!
- In addition to Basic Cosmetology Training,
we offer Toni and Guy Haircutting Techniques,
Esthetics(Grand Forks and Fargo West Academy),
and a Nail Technician Program (Grand Forks
only) to give our students the competitive
edge required to ensure success in our
industry.
Programs
Cosmetology
All of our locations offer the 1800 hours
required to obtain a license in Cosmetology.
The initial 360 hours of our Cosmetology
program is spent in the classroom learning
basic skills and haircutting techniques
to prepare for work on the clinic floor.
The remaining portion of the program is
spent performing services on the public
under the supervision of a licensed instructor
with an hour per day dedicated to classroom
study. Our standard cosmetology program
includes basic make-up, nail and skin care
education.
Esthetics
Grand Forks and Fargo West Academy offer
600 hours of training required to obtain
a license in Esthetics. Our Skin Care Course
combines classroom theory and hands on application
for the study of Microdermabrasion, Chemical
Peels, Make-up and waxing techniques and
the use and application of professional
skin care products. After the initial classroom
preparation, students spend their time performing
services on the public under the supervision
of a licensed instructor.
Nail Technology
Grand Forks offers 350 hours of training
required to obtain a license in Nail Technology.
Our Nail Technician Course combines classroom
theory and hands on application for the
study of manicures, pedicures, application
of artificial nails and creative nail design.
After the initial classroom preparation,
students spend their time performing services
on the public under the supervision of a
licensed instructor.
Massage
Grand Forks offers 750 hours of training
required to obtain a license in Massage
Therapy. Our Massage Therapy Course combines
classroom theory and hands on application
for the study of Massage Therapy. After
the initial classroom preparation, students
spend their time performing services on
the public under the supervision of a licensed
instructor.
 Grand
Forks Campus (2011 South Washington)
Located at 2011 South Washington in Grand
Forks, and is owned by Josef's School of
Hair Design, Inc. The school occupies a
building with approximately 11,000 square
feet.
Grand Forks has a population of 52,000 and
is located on the North Dakota side of the
Red River, with East Grand Forks being on
the Minnesota side. The "Grand Cities" have
much to offer-spacious parks, great fishing,
cross-country skiing, canoeing, shopping
at Columbia Mall and the new Cabela's, excellent
hotels and restaurants and many arts and
theatre events. The Chester Fritz Auditorium
provides a splendid array of national entertainment,
ranging from country to theatrical family
performances. Grand Forks is also home to
the Alerus Center, Ralph Englestad Arena,
North Dakota Museum of Art and the Comedy
Gallery.
Financial Aid
Financial aid is available at our downtown
and Grand Forks locations to those who qualify.
Josef's School of Hair Design in Grand Forks
and downtown Fargo is Nationally Accredited
by NACCAS.
