If you have a passion for wellness and healing, consider the School of Spa and Cosmetology Arts, Massage Therapy Diploma. Our innovative program is devoted to the art and science of contemporary bodywork and massage. The program was founded to teach massage therapy combining a focus on cultivating excellent technique, body mechanics, and movement with techniques to touch the mind, body, and spirit. COSMETOLOGY 12 MONTH DIPLOMA
Our comprehensive cosmetology curriculum covers a wide variety of skills including classes in hair styling and color, manicuring, skin care, chemical services, and salon management. You will have the opportunity for supervised practice in the school's full-service cosmetology clinic and perform services for real clients. This clock-hour program is designed to train students in both theory and practical experience. The courses are structured to give each student a well-rounded and marketable education. After completion of 1,250 hours of instruction AND successful completion of the Cosmetology program, the graduate must take and pass the licensure examination through the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology in order to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The exam consists of a written portion and a practical portion. All classes prepare our students to take and to pass the exam; a mock state board exam is available to the student prior to the actual exam.
ESTHETICS - 4 MONTH DIPLOMA
You'll learn that beauty is more than skin deep when you earn this diploma in Esthetics. In just 355 hours, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of skin care, including an in-depth study of anatomy, physiology and histology, infection control, ingredient and product knowledge, chemistry, and nutrition. In addition, we'll teach you how to provide a variety of services such as specialized facials with facial massage, Galvanic and high frequency treatments, and hair removal. You'll also learn in-depth skin analysis, use of facial machines, and professional makeup.
ESTHETICS/NAIL TECHNICIAN - 8 MONTH DIPLOMA
This diploma program combines the Esthetics and Nail Technician programs. This program is designed so that the student can work as an esthetician or as a nail technician. These industry professionals work in spas, salons, resorts, and as assistants for dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons, and as makeup artists in television and theater. Students will gain an understanding of skin care and makeup, along with a comprehensive knowledge of manicuring, pedicuring, nail design and artistry. Graduates of this program will be awarded a diploma and be able to sit for the Esthetics licensing exam after successful completion of 300 hours of instruction AND successful completion of the Esthetics program. In addition, students will be able to sit for the Nail Technician licensing exam through the State Board of Cosmetology after completion of 200 hours of instruction AND completion of the Nail Technician program.
NAIL TECHNICIAN - 200 HOUR CERTIFICATE
LTI & LBI's nail technician program provides you with comprehensive knowledge and skills to enable you to learn natural manicuring, pedicuring, nail design and artistry along with instruction in traditional and contemporary techniques for nail enhancements and nail extensions. The student will be able to sit for licensing by the State Board of Cosmetology after completion of 200 hours AND successful completion of the Nail Technician program.
MASTER TEACHER OF COSMETOLOGY - 8 MONTH DIPLOMA
As an instructor, you help students learn new skills and launch new careers, which is satisfying and rewarding. Our Master Teacher of Cosmetology program prepares students for positions as instructors in a cosmetology program. Students will take courses in communications, procedures and observation, instructional methodology and management, and clinic management. Students will have the opportunity to work under the supervision of an instructor, and will have student teaching experience in several different classes. Graduates of this program will be awarded a diploma and be able to sit for the Teacher licensing exam when they have successfully completed 500 hours of instruction AND have successfully completed the Master Teacher program. Licensure is required in the state of Pennsylvania. A current Cosmetologist license is required to take the Teacher license
MASSAGE THERAPY - 8 MONTH DIPLOMA
Massage therapists are employed by
resorts, hotels & cruise lines, spas &
salons, hospitals, chiropractic offices,
health and fitness centers, and self employed in private practice.
Students will learn a wide variety of
massage styles and modalities that
include orthopedic and sports massage, spa therapies, and Eastern paradigms. Also included in the curriculum are courses in anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, pathophysiology, and practice management. In addition, students will have the opportunity for supervised practice in the school's massage clinic. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx), given by the Federation of State Massage Therapy.
