Our Goal
Our goal is to put out top 20 hairstylists.
We expect the best out of our students because
if you expect the best...you get the best!
Our instructors are masters in color, chemical
relaxing and styling. We have a small student-teacher
ratio, so you will get individualized attention.
To date, we have a 100% pass ratio with
the state board of cosmetology.
Our staff and administration are dedicated
to the student's success in this profession.
We are a small school but we have a big
vision for our future and our students'
futures.
Cosmetology
Program
The primary objective of the cosmetology
curriculum is to prepare students to pass
the state licensing examination in order
to become a licensed cosmetologist. It is
our ultimate goal to not only prepare our
students for this exam but to give them
the skills necessary to be successful in
this profession.
Throughout the curriculum, we will stress
the importance and value of good customer
service.
Admissions Requirements
Applicants must submit an application, application
fee, and proof of education in order to
be considered for our program. Proof of
education is required in the form of a high
school diploma, high school transcripts
or GED. If you do not have a diploma or
GED, you will be required to take and pass
an Ability to Benefit exam.
Once accepted applicants will have to provide
a pictured id and social security card to
complete the admissions process.
Transfer students must submit the same documents
as a first time student in addition to a
certified transcript of hours and grades.
All transfer students accepted for admission
must complete the minimum clock hours to
graduate from LeGrand Institute of Cosmetology.
Start Dates
Starting dates are the first Tuesday in
each month. Students must have satisfied
all admissions requirements, attended orientation
and made all financial arrangements prior
to their start date.
Your Next Step
Contact us and set up an interview with
our Director, Debra LeGrand. You will receive
a tour of our facilities which will give
you a first hand opportunity to see how
our school is run.
Financial Assistance
Pell Grants
Eligibility for financial aid in the form
of pell grants is determined by the United
States Department of Education. Financial
aid is only for those who qualify. Students
can either submit a paper form of the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA),
which can be picked up at our financial
aid office.
In-School Scholarship
If a student maintains 100% attendance and
scores a 95% or above on all theory and
practical exams, they will receive $500.00
back at the end of their training.
Other Scholarships
The financial aid office has various outside
scholarships that students can apply for.
Students should make an appointment with
our financial aid office to see if they
fit the criteria for any of these scholarships.
