Our goal is to put out top 20 hairstylists. We expect the best out of our students because if you expect the best...you get the best! Our instructors are masters in color, chemical relaxing and styling. We have a small student-teacher ratio, so you will get individualized attention. To date, we have a very high pass ratio with the state board of cosmetology.
Our staff and administration are dedicated to the student's success in this profession. We are a small school but we have a big vision for our future and our students' futures.
The primary objective of the cosmetology curriculum is to prepare students to pass the state licensing examination in order to become a licensed cosmetologist. It is our ultimate goal to not only prepare our students for this exam but to give them the skills necessary to be successful in this profession.
Throughout the curriculum, we will stress the importance and value of good customer service.
Applicants must submit an application, application fee, and proof of education in order to be considered for our program. Proof of education is required in the form of a high school diploma, high school transcripts or GED. If you do not have a diploma or GED, you will be required to take and pass an Ability to Benefit exam.
Once accepted applicants will have to provide a pictured id and social security card to complete the admissions process.
Transfer students must submit the same documents as a first time student in addition to a certified transcript of hours and grades. All transfer students accepted for admission must complete the minimum clock hours to graduate from LeGrand Institute of Cosmetology.
Starting dates are the first Tuesday in each month. Students must have satisfied all admissions requirements, attended orientation and made all financial arrangements prior to their start date.

Pell Grants and Loans
Eligibility for financial aid in the form of pell grants is determined by the United States Department of Education. Financial aid is only for those who qualify. Students can either submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online or it can be completed with our financial aid office by appointment.
If a student maintains 100% attendance and scores a 95% or above on all theory and practical exams, they will receive $500.00 back at the end of their training.
The financial aid office has various outside scholarships that students can apply for. Students should make an appointment with our financial aid office to see if they fit the criteria for any of these scholarships.
