Cosmetology Program
This course is designed through written
and practical course work to develop the
skills necessary to pass the written and
practical State Board Exams as well as to
ensure the entry level training necessary
to become a Professional cosmetologist.
Nails Program
Allow LPA's professional staff to train
you in manicure and pedicure, applying fiberglass
and gel nails, performing nail art, silk
wraps and much more. In addition to studying
natural nail care, you will learn various
other techniques for giving your clients
lovely hands and feet. The objectives of
this course are to develop in the student:
 expertise
in natural nail care, wrapping, tipping,
repair, application and use of equipment
- confidence and expertise to safely use
the chemicals, equipment and techniques
related to Nail Artistry
- confidence and expertise with hands-on
experience using live models and clients
- respect for chemicals and products used
in nail care and the effect and treatment
if they are misused
- awareness in nail care: products for
retail sales, substitutions, comparable
product lines and quality
- communication skills, customer relationships
through stressing techniques for gaining
client input and satisfaction with the
skin care treatments
- pride in workmanship
- desirable work habits, attitudes and
personal professional ethics
- desirable business ethics, including
- appropriate employer-employee relations
Skin Care Program-Esthetics
You'll study Aesthetics and Makeup when
you take this course. All other topics covered
relate to these two major areas. This series
of classes uses written and practical course
work to develop in you the skills you'll
need to pass the written and practical State
Board Exams. They will also give you the
entry-level training necessary to become
a Professional Aesthetician.
The objectives of this course are to develop
in the student:
- the ability to perform Transdermal ElectrolysisMyontology
and Glycolic Peels
- confidence and expertise to safely use
the chemicals, equipment and techniques
related to aesthetics and makeup
- confidence and expertise with hands-on
experience using live models and clients
expertise in product treatments, physical
dexterity and manipulative skills, use
of skin care instruments, hand facials,
machine facials, nutrition and product
application.
- expertise in makeup knowledge, highlighting,
camouflaging, make overs, new face designs,
special effects, face shapes and eyebrows
- respect and basic knowledge in electricity,
chemicals and products used in skin care
and the effect and treatment if they are
misused
- awareness in aesthetics and makeup
products for retail sales, substitutions,
comparable product lines and quality
- communication skills, customer relationships
through stressing techniques for gaining
client input and satisfaction with the
skin care treatments
- familiarity with Electrolysis, Micropigmentation,
Herbology, Iridology, Raike Reflexology
