Objectives
The beauty and hair world is
bigger than ever, and the need for creative,
well-trained cosmetologists is growing.
Lowell Academy's main objective is offering
beginning courses in cosmetology and manicuring
to prepare students to become hairdressers
and nail technicians. Satisfactorily completing these programs
will qualify students to apply for a state-licensing
exam.

 Cosmetology
This course is designed for entry-level
training in the field of cosmetology, with
training in hairstyling, hair cutting, permanent
waving, skin care, makeup, manicuring, salon
management, and hair coloring. Upon satisfactorily
completing the course and requirements,
a diploma will be awarded. Upon sending
the required fee and documents, the graduate
will be eligible to take the state board
exam, which is required for a cosmetology
license.

COSMETOLOGY CROSSOVER COURSE
This course is designed for licensed barbers
who wish to obtain a cosmetology license.
Upon satisfactorily completing the course
and requirements, a diploma will be awarded.
Upon sending the required fee and documents,
the graduate will be eligible to take the
state board exam, which is required for
a cosmetology license.
The Crossover program consists of;
- Chemicals (colors, perms, relaxing)
- Makeup Application
- Hairstyling (Pin Curls, Rollers, Waves)
- Manicuring
COSMETOLOGY BRUSH-UP COURSE
This course is designed for graduated students
who feel the need to refresh with new techniques
and re-evaluate the old. During the first
week the student will be evaluated for specific
weaknesses and needs, and the instructors
will determine a schedule of training. Upon
satisfactory completion of the course a
certificate of participation in the course
will be awarded.
The Brush-up program consists of;
- Styling
- Cuts
- Braids
- Perms
- Colors
- Video Reviews
Manicuring Programs
Days or nights, this course trains students
in the art of manicuring, which will include
training in sanitation, sterilization, and
anatomy of the hand, basic manicuring, foot
art, and sculptured nails. Upon satisfactorily
completing the course, a diploma will be
awarded. Upon sending the required fee and
documents, the graduate will be eligible
to take the state board exam, which is required
for a manicuring license.
The Manicuring program consists of;
- Safety & Sanitation
- Artificial Nail Techniques
- First Aid
- Basic Manicuring, Hand & Arm Massage
- Professional Ethics & Salon Management,
