The Cosmetology School that approaches Hair Dressing as an Art Form
The vast majority of cosmetology schools focus solely on preparing students to obtain their cosmetology licenses. Students whose goal is a more fulfilling career, who want a higher quality of education with the latest and most creative approach to color and cut, will attend Mitsu Sato Hair Academy.

To become successful in all aspects of their careers, today's students need a school that places as much emphasis on learning the most current techniques and artistic approaches to hairdressing as passing the exam for their cosmetology licenses.

Curriculum
Mitsu Sato Hair Academy encourages its students to approach hairdressing as an art form. Our curriculum is intended not only to ensure that each student receives their cosmetology license, but also to produce an elite hairstylist.

You will master our unique approach to haircutting with the "Clock Metric" method which is easy to analyze and duplicate. The technical and creative basis of all hair services will begin by learning the 10 forms of haircuts, from classic to trendy. You will learn all haircutting forms, including scissors, freehand, razors, clippers, and others. Training will also involve texture services and special occasion styles for your bridal and prom clients. Color skills will set you apart from the others, and you will receive training in formulation, application and creative techniques.

Advanced skills will include hands-on training with Mitsu Sato himself; various salon team members; guest artists from the area; and national-level, successful salon owners and stylists, makeup artists and business professionals. But it doesn't stop there. We will also teach you methods of how to become a successful hairstylist, financially and artistically, and how to build a loyal client base.

Extra opportunities as a student of the Hair Academy will be:

  • Involvment in fashion shows in the area
  • Behind-the-scenes experience with hairstylists in action
  • Participation in the Hair Academy's very own fashion show
  • Attendance at beauty industry shows in Chicago, St. Louis and Los Angeles
  • Participation in an editorial photo shoot with your own model to be entered in student competition
  • Portfolio and resumé building
  • Assistance with job placement

Postgraduate opportunities:

  • Advancement to the New Talent Program at Mitsu Sato Salon
  • Compensation while continuing to learn and work in the salon
  • Participation in on-going demonstrations, advanced training, fashion shows and lectures
  • Refresher courses at no cost

We are very proud of the Hair Academy instructors, and because the Hair Academy is owned and operated by an experienced salon owner and hairstylist, we feel we offer the most contemporary and progressive hairstyling education.
