Welcome
As the world changes and the need for increased cosmetic skills grows dramatically, the demand for trained cosmetologists becomes even more acute. The Beauty and Cosmetology communities across the country are developing or expanding their services and creating new and exciting career opportunities for individuals prepared to meet this challenge.
Fortis College trains qualified individuals to meet these growing needs. The Institute offers learning experiences in a concentrated time frame and provides the environment for advancement into the Cosmetology Arts and Sciences.
Fortis College endeavors to:
- Meet regional needs for qualified cosmetology professionals and to provide the rapidly growing community with competent personnel trained in the Cosmetology Arts and Sciences.
- Provide a mechanism whereby qualified individuals may pursue technical training, without jeopardizing existing economic responsibilities, and pursue vertical career advancement through programs that provide career mobility.
- Serve the community as a whole by developing and offering additional training programs as career opportunities are identified both locally and/or regionally.
Aesthetics / Skincare Diploma
The Aesthetics Skincare program provides students training in the traditional holistic approach to skin care and includes additional training in the areas of make up and color analysis, mask and spa therapies, hair removal, enzyme treatments, pressure points massage, body wrapping, Microdermabrasion and hot stone treatments. Students are introduced to medical pharmaceutical product protocols and will learn the principles of effective retailing and general business development as it relates to the practice of the skincare professional. Graduates from the program will demonstrate a basic and advanced understanding of the structure and function of the skin and how to apply skin care treatments through the effective utilization of product and equipment protocols.
The Aesthetics Skincare Program prepares students for registration in the state of Florida as a registered facial specialist and certification in body wrapping. The registered graduate is qualified for entry-level employment as a registered facial specialist with training critical for employment opportunities in resort spas and medical facilities. The graduate can demonstrate communication and employability skills and can apply professional and appropriate ethics to all areas of the job.
