NWHA = Experience and Success
We are able to provide our Future Professionals with a foundation of education that is built upon our owners combined 75 years of successful salon and cosmetology school experience.

Our systems have developed with multiple product lines and beauty school educational research to back it up.  Our 2009 license examination pass/fail statistics revealed that our graduates passed their exams at an official rate of 99%, while the statewide average was 85%.  The Learning Leader pass rate average statewide for 2009 was 66% - the Northwest Hair Academy average was 100%.

Cosmetology Program Overview
In addition to the minimum educational requirements set by Washington State law, we offer a program of skills, tools, products, and techniques that can prepare you for success, fulfillment, and a lifelong career in the wonderful world of cosmetology.

The talented Learning Leaders of Northwest Hair Academy provide extensive hands-on and classroom training in our four-phase cosmetology program.

Fundamental Skills - This is where you learn the rules
In this introductory course, you'll learn the basics that will let you confidently begin working on guests, and your Learning Leaders will help you blend professional skills with personal development.

Expanding Skills - This is where you learn how to adjust the rules
Building on the skills you learned in Fundamentals, this intermediate level teaches the value of time management, retailing, and the art  of successful communication.

Creative Skills - This is where you begin to develop YOUR cuts, YOUR styles and YOUR colors!
Yes; it is important to know how to duplicate certain cuts, colors and styles.  But most successful stylists will also want to know how to express themselves in THEIR work.  This phase takes you through advanced hairdressing and chemical work.  You are now moving into the last months and weeks toward graduation and you'll spend your time in high gear, preparing yourself for your future salon career.

Senior Project - Senior Project is the last 13 weeks of school
Our Future Professionals will have one day a week that is dedicated to working in a self-directed manner to complete their senior project checklist.  In this project the Future Professionals will write and complete reports about our industry; go on salon tours; complete a portfolio of your most impressive and creative work; research information specific to their goals, and present their finding at the completion of their enrollment.

Admissions
Our Admissions Leaders strive to provide information by which you can make an informed decision about your future. We never "sell" anyone on our schools. We prefer to make you welcome and either give you a tour or simply allow you to visit our schools leisurely so you can chat with our educational associates and administrative staff, sit in on a class, or talk with any of the Future Professionals who are not working with guests. Our Admissions Leaders and financial aid staff can walk you through the confusing jungle of federal financial aid, if you provide the proper paperwork, and then give you an accurate answer to your level of financial aid eligibility within 30 short minutes.

Financial Aid
Financial aid is available to those who qualify. Financial assistance is available in the form of PELL grants, Federal Family Education Loan Program, and private credit-based funding.

Please contact the financial aid office for more information.
