Us The Oehrlein School of Cosmetology
has been providing quality education in
the field of Cosmetology for more than 33
years. We take pride in the fact that we
are accredited by the National Accrediting
Commission of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences
(NACCAS), State Certified, and the only
Pivot Point Member School in our area. Our instructors have an accumulated knowledge
based on over 75 years of experience in
the cosmetology field. Our Instructors are
experts in their field, and give personal
attention to each student, including career
guidance and special instruction when needed.
Our focus is on the students' success and
satisfaction throughout their school experience. As the local area Pivot Point Member School,
we provide a personal, broad-based, objective
program that allows a student to succeed
in their training, by using cutting edge
technology, the latest trends and techniques
along with state of the art equipment and
tools. We put our students in the position to succeed,
not only while they are at the Oehrlein
School, but in their future careers. Cosmetology
Course Description The objective of the cosmetology course
is to prepare you for all aspects of salon
service. Through classroom theory and clinical
practice, you will gain the well-rounded
foundation you need to become a successful
cosmetologist. Early in the program you will learn the
basics of shampooing, sculpting/cutting
on all hair types, tools used in the salon,
sanitation and hygiene. As you progress
you will study the methods and products
involved in changing hair texture and color.
You will study esthetics, which includes
identifying different skin types, performing
skin treatments and makeup application.
Manicures, pedicures and artificial nail
services are also covered throughout the
course. Each segment of the course includes
review exercises to help prepare you for
the State Board exam.
To Enroll You must have a completed high school diploma
or G.E.D. You must be at least 16 years
of age. Financial Aid Students are able to apply for
federal student aid to help cover the costs
of tuition, using the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Pell grants and student loans are available
for those who qualify though the U.S. Department
of Education Direct Loan Program. Don't know if you will qualify for student
