People from 16 to 60 are entering the cosmetology and beauty industry. Career seekers are learning that beauty education is one of the quickest ways to an exciting future. There are almost 3 job openings for every new licensed cosmetologist.

The Pennsylvania Academy of Cosmetology offers the latest breakthroughs in educational technology, offering students the state-of-the-art skills needed to launch a successful career.

Curriculum
At the Pennsylvania Academy of Cosmetology, we strive to graduate the best student possible.

We are one of more than 250 Pivot Point Member Schools. This means we are approved to teach The Scientific Approach™ cosmetology educational programs using state-of-the-art DVDs and course books. For over 30 years, The Scientific Approach™ has taught aspiring hair designers the secrets to creating (and recreating) any hair design.

The Scientific Approach series includes:

• Hair Sculpting for Ladies and Men, Perm Design
• Color Design
• Hair Design
• Long Hair Design

In addition, the People Skills module is taught to prepare students to skillfully deal with the public and their co-workers. The operator's course is approximately 10 months.

We also offer a teacher's course, which is approximately 6 months. While attending the teacher's class, students learn how to prepare lesson plans and deal with the many challenges of teaching. They also learn the basics of salon management. Part of their time is spent assisting the instructors in the classroom and on the clinic floor.
