School
Raphael's School of Beauty Culture, Inc. has
years of experience providing high-quality
education in the cosmetology arts & sciences.
Our objective is to give our students the
best possible training available in the principles
and practices of the profession of hairdressing
and cosmetology and that it is the purpose
of our school to prepare students to pass
state examinations, enter upon, progress in
and make a contribution to the profession
of cosmetology.
Our mission is to prepare students to become employable in the cosmetology profession and to encourage self growth and motivation as well as professionalism.
Admission Requirements
for All Courses
Our schools only admit as students those persons
having the following:
- Proof that the student is beyond the
age of 16
- Proof of high school graduation or
demonstrate the ability to benefit from
the training being offered
- Students being admitted under the ability
to benefit basis must provide proof of
completion of at least the 10th grade.
The ability to benefit form the training
will be determined on the basis of successful
completion of an independently-administered
and graded aptitude test. The test utilized
by this school is the Wonderlic Test.
The test is administered by Kari Simeone.
The minimum passing scores are 200 and
210.
- The Teacher Training course requires
proof of high school graduation and an
Ohio Managing Cosmetologist license.
Managing Cosmetologist
Course Description
The
1800-hour Combined Cosmetology & Managers
course prepares all graduates of the Ohio
State Board examination to become a licensed
managing cosmetologist. The course study includes
haircutting and styling, manicuring, make-up
and facials, hair coloring, permanent waving,
scalp and hair treatments, and other important
areas of cosmetology. This course is also
designed to teach students all areas of being
a salon manager such as hiring new employees,
payroll taxes, etc. Our school also has a
large clinic open to the public and is supervised
by licensed instructors. Completion of the
subjects will prepare the student to take
the State Board examination and become a licensed
Managing Cosmetologist.
Managing Esthetician
Course Description
The 750-hour Managing Esthetician course will
train the student in skin care, body treatments,
make-up application and hair removal to become
a skin-care professional. This course will
also teach students all areas of spa management
such as hiring employees, daily spa operations,
product knowledge, and retail techniques.
Completion of this course will prepare the
student to take the Ohio State Board examination
and become a licensed Managing Esthetician.
Manicurist and Managing
Manicurist Course Descriptions
The 200-hour Manicuring course has been established
for students who are only interested in the
nail care area of cosmetology. During this
course, each student will be introduced to
nail structure and manicuring and pedicuring
techniques with ample opportunity to apply
these techniques to patrons in the clinic.
Advanced training with artificial nail application
and maintenance, nail wrapping, and nail tip
application is included in the course. Completion
of this course will prepare the student to
take the State Board examination to become
a licensed Manicurist.
The 100-hour Managing Manicurist course trains
students to deal with common management problems
and issues. They are also taught good business
techniques and practices as well as potential
salon problems and their correction and prevention.
This course will prepare the student to take
the Ohio State Board examination and become
a licensed Managing Manicurist.
