Renovated in 2006, Bellus Academy is a free-standing building located on the corner of Plaza Boulevard and Palm Avenue in National City. The college is 5700 square feet and consists of two classrooms, a facial room, modern clinic area, student lunch room, reception area, facial room and offices. The spacious work area provides students the study environment needed to create a lucrative career in the luxurious Spa and Salon Industry.

The curriculum offers the most comprehensive professional training in all aspects of the beauty industry including hair design and sculpting, spa manicuring and make-up artistry. Included is a business module that teaches the student professional business, finance and marketing courses designed to develop business acumen.

Our Programs

Cosmetology

Cosmetology challenges and inspires students in the technical practices, artistic ability and comprehension of theory in every phase of study. From the first phase of Discovery, learning new skills in our Inspirational phase and practicing their artistic ability in our Creativity phase, students work on their efficiency and productivity, to ensure their personal success.

Our customized 1600-hour cosmetology training is one of the most comprehensive course in the nation and includes professional training in all aspects of the beauty industry. Our dynamic instructors continue to evolve with the industries hottest trends and pass their insight and connections along to their students. We deliver an unsurpassed cosmetology education by incorporating The S.T.A.R. Precision Haircutting System Curriculum with our innovative styling and finishing techniques. This precision haircutting system is designed to give the best foundation in the art of haircutting. S.T.A.R. is the only haircutting system that evolves as the student's technical skills and creativity become stronger, providing support to nurture the novice to the master stylist. The S.T.A.R. iPhone and iPad apps allow you to learn anytime, anywhere by watching all the videos on your mobile device or computer.

Spa Manicuring

The nations first to offer a Spa Nail Technician program. This course offers advanced spa manicure and pedicure training. Course includes instruction on reflexology, hot stone, therapeutic treatments, gel nails & sculptures, introduction to airbrushing, nail art, skin brightening and spa behaviors. Students also learn applicable laws in health, safety and sanitation.

Make up Artistry

Inspired by the world-renowned Make-up Designory (MUD) curriculum, Bay Vista is the only educational institution outside of NY and LA to offer an advanced certification professional make-up program at this level and only MUD affiliate school in the nation. Intimate class sizes for intense learning on the latest techniques used for bridal, runway, editorial, commercial and film.
