Where Education Matters
Dream, Create, Inspire.....In just little over a year you can achieve your dream of having a fun, successful, and flexible career as a Hair Stylist, Salon Owner, Colorist, Educator, or Platform Artist. The Sherman Kendall Academy of Beauty Arts and Sciences has both full and part-time programs to meet your scheduling needs so you may start your career as soon as possible. Full-time students can finish the program in just 13 short months while our part-time students complete their training in approximately 20 months.
Are you ready to be Creative?
The evolving field of cosmetology offers an amazing outlet for your creativity and personal style. Each day as a Cosmetologist offers endless opportunities for innovation and we know learning the basics first is the best start for any sustaining career.
Our program begins with intensive hands-on instruction as the first segment of your education. During our orientation program, you will be introduced to and trained in the fundamentals before advancing to clinic-performed services where you will continue to refine your skills. Personalized classroom instruction, special classes, and the student-service floor will provide the foundation you need to master hair design and basic cosmetology skills, including nails, skin care, and waxing.
SKA has over 25 years experience graduating top Utah stylists. We are committed to preparing you for success through structured education as you launch your cosmetology career.
We love being a part of our vibrant industry and community. Here are some of the opportunities you can enjoy as part of your education:
For exceptional students who have the talent, dedication, and time, we offer participation in our SKA special events and promotional activities. From fashion shows, to volunteer services for those in need, to local charity events, SKA's reputation as a leading Utah cosmetology school, affords our students many unique opportunities beyond the classroom and service floor.
MASTER OF THE ART DAYS
Staying on top of current trends and collaborating with established successful professionals is a priority at SKA. Several times each year, we sponsor a Master of the Arts Day to inspire our students to reach for their dreams by meeting dynamic leaders in the field of cosmetology. Many of Utah's top stylists as well as national platform artists and educators have visited our students to share personal success stories, creative expertise, and practical business tips to inspire our students to dream big as they map out their career plans.
Our students have the opportunity to embrace their individual vision in our SKA Hair Competitions. All our students are invited to compete in a variety of themed competitions such as the Fantasy Hair, Before and After Hair & Make Up, and Color competitions where our students' creativity and skills are showcased for the whole school and their professional portfolio if they choose.
We at SKA love our students. Stay in touch with us after you complete your program for continued participation in our Master of the Arts Day as well as other educational opportunities.
