Susan & Susan Salon School of Cosmetology, founded by creative stylists Susan Saponaro and Susan Eastwood, is an innovative and modern cosmetology school, located adjacent to their salon and spa. The curriculum is designed to teach skills cosmetologists will need to inspire them, to explore their passion and creativity with hair design, and learn the business that will help them make their careers in cosmetology a dream come true.

Susan & Susan School of Cosmetology is carefully designed to assimilate a salon environment for the sole purpose of beauty education; equipped with the most modern of visual and teaching aids, and providing you the type of professional beauty equipment in keeping with the top salons.

Education at Susan & Susan is centered around the student learning through practical operations on a repetitive basis. This provides a great learning atmosphere where you learn by experience. You will also learn proven, practical business strategies for establishing a clientele - or operating your own business.

Program of Study
The beauty industry has come to expect a high standard of proficiency and excellence in the skills and professionalism of top cosmetology schools. Our curriculum is well developed and planned, and conducts its training in an assimilated salon atmosphere. Our entire educational system, including our expectations from our students, are well designed to provide you quality training in an environment to prepare for a rewarding career. The curriculum for students enrolled in the cosmetology program offers theory practical training and technical instruction covering all practices of cosmetology. Our Cosmetology Course incorporates extensive hands-on learning to provide you with a complete understanding of beauty and wellness.

In Theory, students are instructed in all areas of theory related to hairdressing and cosmetology, as well as Connecticut State laws.

In the Practical segment, students use mannequins and other students to perform various services in the professional field of hairdressing and cosmetology. Classroom and visual presentations may be used during Practical Instruction.

In the Clinical Instruction, students practice in a simulated salon environment under the direct supervision of an Instructor. Students are assigned clients and perform the same services they will perform upon graduation and successful completion of the state board examination.

Our Artistic Directors
Susan & Susan, founded by creative stylists, Susan Saponaro and Susan Eastwood, an incredibly talented mother and daughter team, opened a trend-setting salon and spa in Southbury last year and are now celebrating the opening of an innovative and modern cosmetology school, adjacent to the salon, with a curriculum designed to teach skills cosmetologists will need, to inspire them, to explore their passion and creativity with hair design, and learn the business that will help them make their careers in cosmetology a dream come true.

Susan Saponaro, a Master Stylist and Instructor, has over 20 years experience at the top cosmetology schools and is one of the few instructors with a State Vocational Licensed Teaching Degree in Cosmetology. She was originally trained in New York City as a stylist and educator. Susan's accomplishments include her position as an "Advanced Educator" in Training Classes for professional stylists in a Southern Connecticut Cosmetology School and as a stylist in a local Southbury salon.

Susan Eastwood, who will also work as an Instructor in the school, is a Senior Stylist, who received her basic training from Ricci's Academy. She continued her education by attending advanced courses at the Personal Image Day Spa in Wilton and Hair of Fairfield. Susan has previously worked for salons in Southbury since 1999.
