Courses Offered

Cosmetology Program
Our 1200 hour New Jersey state approved cosmetology program features design, cutting, coloring, multicultural techniques, makeup, fashion trends, manicuring, pedicuring, basic facials, and the art of hairdressing in a three-phase program we call Core, Adaptive, and Creative.
• CORE - Learn the rules! In this introductory course, you'll learn the core foundations that will let you confidently begin working on guests, and your Learning Leaders will help you blend professional skills with personal development.
• ADAPTIVE - Apply the rules! Building on the skills you learned in Core, this intermediate level teaches the value of time management, retailing, and the art of successful communication.
• CREATIVE - Expand the rules! This final phase takes you through advanced hairdressing and chemical work. During your last months and weeks toward graduation, you'll spend your time in high gear, preparing yourself for your future salon career.
Student Teacher Program

Our 500 hour teacher training program meets the New Jersey state requirements in theory, teaching experiences, and hours for licensed cosmetology instructors. Areas of emphasis include learning how to teach theory, learning to grade and record theory tests and worksheets, and preparing students to pass the state board examination.

Enrollment

Admission Requirements
The Lab will accept applications for the regular cosmetology or student teacher programs from those who are high school graduates, or holders of high school graduation equivalency certificates, and who are at least 17 years old. An interview with the Admissions Leader is required prior to admission.

Admissions Procedure
All potential Future Professionals must interview with an Admissions representative and complete a facility tour before applying. Following a tour they will then complete and submit the application form to the school prior to registration. Applicants for Student Teacher program must meet the above requirements and:
• Be 18 years old or older
• Prove possession of practitioner's license for at least 6 months
• File with the NJ State Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling for permission to enroll in the program
