We are the premiere makeup artist studio located in the heart of Richmond, Virginia. We offer 2 additional remote studios in College Park, MD. & St. Augustine, FL.

Makeup Artist Studio was developed to equip individuals who wish to explore the unlimited opportunities in the field of makeup artistry for film, tv, video and print.

Through our professional instruction, hands on training, portfolio building photo sessions, we teach you the tools necessary to begin a successful career as a professional makeup artist. Every day, world wide, there are productions of every genre taking place. A 3 day hands-on training program consisting of:

• Choosing appropriate foundations for skin tone
• Corrective makeup application for a flawless appearance

• Bridal Business Success

This course of study includes:

• 3 Days, hands-on training
• All makeup, tools and products are provided for use in class.
• You may purchase a MAC makeup and brush kit to keep, additional expenses apply.
• MAC Student Discount Card of 20%
• A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the program for 21 hours.

Pro Makeup
A 5 day hands-on training program consisting of:

• Airbrush Makeup Part I & II

This course of study includes:

• 5 Days, hands-on training

• MAC Student Discount Card of 20%
• A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the program for 40 hours.

Advanced Pro Makeup
A 2 week hands-on training program that goes further and more in depth for those who are serious about their makeup career. Get ready for the most amazing makeup training experience ever! This course consists of:

  • Live Set Experience - At the end of this course you will build a portfolio by applying up to 3 of your newly acquired makeup skills on up to 3 professional models and shoot your work with a fashion photographer.

"Live Set Experience"
Our "live set experience" is available for Advanced Pro Students only. This photoshoot opportunity is offered to allow each student to work in a real production studio with a fashion photographer and professional models in order to begin building a professional standard portfolio to present for employment opportunities if desired. Each student in the AP program will be production ethics and rules of the set.

Credentials
Makeup Artist Studio is owned and operated by Michelle Duroy Torres who has worked internationally as a Key Makeup Artist for more than 12 years in Film, TV, Fashion Editorial and Bridal. Some of her clients have included: BBC America, ESPN, Nat'l Geographic, Kmart, Obsidian Productions, HBO Films, Modelogic/Whilemina Agency, A&M Records, Universal Studios, New Dominion Pictures, Int'l Mission Board, Virginia Living Magazine, Richmond Magazine, and The Martin Agency. Michelle has worked on foreign film projects in India, Thailand, and Indonesia.

Michelle has taught model styling programs for Whilemina Image and Fashion Photography classes at Virginia Commonwealth University. Michelle and her highly trained team of artists are dedicated to serving each student at our 3 studio locations, with the best makeup training available.
