Beauty Schools in Arizona

In the state of Arizona, beauty school students have the option to be licensed in cosmetology, esthetics and skin care, nail technology and a handful of other beauty professions. While cosmetology is a comprehensive beauty education, nail technology, esthetics and skin care, and makeup training are more specialized programs. Graduates of beauty schools in Arizona usually work in student salons and spas. Arizona beauty school students can learn in a classroom setting and many schools also have the opportunity to provide services to the public under the supervision of the cosmetology instructor in a student salon setting. Students are only permitted to accept pay for applying shampoo and cream rinse, combing hair and removing rollers and clips until they have completed 300 hours of training. After completing the required hours of instruction and clinical services, graduates can apply for licensing with the Arizona Board of Cosmetology.

Arizona is a great state in which to attend beauty school. Arizona has a unique style all its own and its inhabitants need plenty of professionals in the beauty industry to keep things fresh. According to the US bureau of labor statistics, in order to become a licensed cosmetologist, esthetician or nail technician, the state of Arizona requires at least two years of high school education or its equivalent, and that the applicant is at least 23 years old, then of course a quality beauty school education. Fortunately, there are numerous Arizona beauty colleges that offer cosmetology, hair, makeup, nails and skin care training.

The state of Arizona requires 1600 hours of training to sit for the board exams and get your cosmetology license, 600 hours to become a nail technician, or 600 hours to become an esthetician. The average salary range for cosmetologists is $16240 to $40180 per year before tips, with a median AZ cosmetologist salary of $20100. The average median salary for nail technicians is $21180 and the median salary for estheticians is $34790 in Arizona.
