Skin Care & Esthetics Schools in Florida

In order to work as an esthetician in Florida, proper training and licensing is required. At the esthetics schools in Florida, education and training focus on a variety of aspects of skincare. Students learn about the science of skin and how treatments such as facials and body wraps can improve the tone, texture, and overall appearance of the skin. Students will learn how to work with all different types of skin and how to manage problems that range from acne to wrinkles. Esthetics training also includes some elements of scalp massage and reflexology, and how to professionally apply makeup. The FL board requires 260 training hours to get licensed, so completing courses at Florida esthetics schools is the first step toward becoming a professional in the field. Once students complete their required coursework, they must sit for their written and practical license exam before they can get their esthetician license. Licensed estheticians usually find jobs in salons, day spas, and even medical spas where services such as laser hair removal are offered. Data from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics shows that Florida is the state with the second highest employment level for estheticians and skincare professionals in the country.
