Skin Care & Esthetics Schools in Hawaii
Most people think of Hawaii as a sunny beach paradise. While that's true, life in this sunny state requires a lot of exposure to the elements which means that estheticians are needed to help clients care for their skin to keep it young looking and healthy. Not to mention, with Hawaii's huge amount of tourism, estheticians may be in high demand for salons and spas on the islands. Esthetics schools in Hawaii offer a selection of courses to help aspiring estheticians specialize in all the methods and tools available for the best skin care services. The Board of Barbering and Cosmetology in Hawaii issues beauty operator licenses, including the license for estheticians. To apply for a license, the prospective esthetician must be at least 16 years old, a high school graduate or have earned a G.E.D. and have completed 600 hours in an esthetician training program at one of the esthetics schools in Hawaii. Additionally, the applicant must pass the written and practical examinations to get licensed as an esthetician. Esthetics students in Hawaii can also apply for a temporary license which allows the applicant to work supervised by a licensed esthetician while waiting to take the written examination for a period of up to one year.
