Beauty Schools in Oregon
Oregon requires cosmetologists and those who want to work in any beauty-related career to become licensed after attending one of the approved beauty schools in Oregon. The Oregon Department of Education specifies rules regarding different programs and hours of training required, including 150 hours of safety and infection training. There is also a written and practical exam beauticians must pass. The state of Oregon requires 2300 hours of training to sit for the board exams and get your cosmetology license, 350 hours to become a nail technician, or 250 hours to become an esthetician. The average salary range for cosmetologists is $18,270 to $42,430 per year before tips, with a median OR cosmetologist salary of $22,450. The average median salary for nail technicians is $18,130 and the median salary for estheticians is $35,850 in Oregon.
