You can either take a nail tech training program that includes 250 hours of practical training, or work at least 8 months as an apprentice in a licensed nail salon. Once you meet the requirements and earn your license, you will need to renew it on time, or pay late fees. Currently, you will have to renew every two years by the date of expiration. The renewal fee is $25. Nail techs in Maryland are not required to take continuing education courses between renewal periods to remain in good standing.
