Beauty Advice: Father's Day Edition

WRITTEN BY: Elizabeth On 06/19/2016 • Lifestyle

Dads. They have some pretty funny outlooks on life. Example: they think the “pull my finger” joke is still funny or that carpooling us around at the age of 16 was socially acceptable. Despite the fact that dads think Hawaiian shirts are stylish or that flip phones are up- to- date technology, we have many things to thank them for. They taught us how to hit a baseball, parallel park and change a spare tire. While we tend to associate our dad’s with things like tailgating and all things sports, we have to give credit where it’s due: fashion and beauty.

In honor of Father’s Day, we asked our beauty team experts to share the most memorable beauty advice they ever received from their dad.

“To clear a nasty blemish, cut the sticky end off of a Band-Aid and place it on the spot. Leave it on overnight and the next day you will see improvement and a speedier clear-up.”
- Lindsey Rapoff

“Wash your face in the morning and at night. Wash with warm water and rinse with cold water to close up your pores.”

-Kim Ramirez

“My dad taught me how to style my hair in a braid and slick back pony tail. When it comes to fashion, stylish jackets are always a good investment and you can never go wrong with a pair of white tennis shoes.”

-Kayla Meppelink

“My dad taught me how to paint my nails and toenails. We would always watch our favorite cartoons and paint my nails.”

-Jennifer Sutton

“I learned the importance of properly polished shoes, from my dad. We would get his dress shoes out of the closet and polish them together. To this day, scuffs or scrapes on shoes really bother me!”

-Lindsey Ihm
