Capri College

Do What You Love!

We think you have chosen a great industry. It's rewarding, creative, flexible, and fun!

Now choose the school that is right for you.

The Capri Experience:

A Family Environment:

You can meet life long friends! Have fun! Experience an atmosphere based on success, self expression, and teamwork!

Distinctive Programs:

Our goal is to provide you with the most comprehensive, hands-on education possible; whether your passion is Cosmetology, Esthetics, Nail Technology, or Massage Therapy. We balance a solid foundation with advanced techniques and new trends (think hair extensions, multidimensional colors, airbrush makeup, microdermabrasion, Thai massage, and natural products). Our curriculum is written for the visual learner. It was created and is frequently updated for the "right brained", creative student; and will guide you through your education, step-by-step. We do not rely on one company (or one hair product manufacturer) to supply us with curriculum, as many other schools do. We feel this could limit your exposure to a lot of great information and techniques.

Additional considerations:

The Capri Promise: Experience our program for two week trial period before deciding if our school/industry is right for you. Capri retains only $150 ($50 application fee/$100 of the registration fee) for those who discontinue in the first two weeks. Ask for details.

Weekly Advanced Classes: At Capri you are not done learning after basics. Our weekly advanced technique classes build on basic skills to shape the professional you will become.

Optional Degree in Entrepreneurial Cosmetology: This is offered in cooperation with Northeast Iowa Community College. You may be able to transfer up to 43 credits to NICC toward the 64 needed to earn this degree (Capri cannot guarantee transfer of credit, which is determined by NICC).

Salon like practical training: Our student salon area is newly remodeled and professionally equipped. We work hard to bring in clients so you will be confident in your technical and customer service/business skills.

A unique system of goals and rewards (like the real world): Earn as you learn with our "Capri Rewards" program. Ask for details!

Experienced Educators: We pride ourselves on our professional and experienced educators. They receive specialized teacher training and many are sent around the country to learn advanced skills that will be passed on to you. Our instructors are required to have at least three years industry experience.

ACCSC Accreditation: We are held to higher standards (i.e. instructor experience) than most other Cosmetology Schools. We hold ourselves to a higher standard, so we like it that way.

Products and Equipment: You will experience a wide variety of professional products from many different manufacturers, including low ammonia color, natural products, and mineral makeup. Your equipment kit will be professional grade. It includes five mannequins (your first haircut client will appreciate this), three ceramic irons, three professional shears, ionic dryer, etc. You will be ready to hit the ground running upon graduation.

Career Placement Assistance: We work to maintain relationships with salon and spa employers. We listen to them for ways we can improve, to keep our education current. Our community involvement and long-standing relationships allow us to assist you with as many employment options as possible.

Technology:High speed internet access, SmartBoard, PowerPoint presentations, interactive DVD's and other visual teaching technology; perfect for our modern, visual industry.

Sassoon Cutting System: Our Cosmetology students receive proprietary Sassoon training, a method of cutting which considers every aspect of hair. Cut and colour are applied with precision technique, and considered together - a seamless fusion of cut, colour and client.

Federal Financial Aid is available in the forms of loans and grants for those who qualify. Capri (and many other) scholarships are also available.

Seems like most schools tell you how they are different, or how they train only for the best salons; then the details get sketchy. Our advice: Talk to students and graduates of any school you are considering. Ask salons/spas about reputation. Look at graduate success rates. Ask how many students per teacher. Ask about minimum teacher experience requirements and what advanced training teachers have. We have been in this industry for over 45 years. We know our success depends on your success. That's why we invest in our education, teachers, and communities. It's why we train you in business, marketing, people skills, goal setting, and image improvement. It's why we have formed an agreement allowing you the possibility of transferring credit toward a Degree in Entrepreneurial Cosmetology at Northeast Iowa Community College.

Thank You for considering Capri College.

We care about your success.
