About Us
Minnesota School of Cosmetology (MSC) provides hands-on training for careers in beauty. Our school includes classrooms and a professional salon setting where you can learn how to cut,color and style hair, give manicures and pedicures, provide spa treatments and perform various skin care techniques. Upon graduation, you should have everything you need to be a versatile artist in the cosmetology industry.

Here's a sample of what you can learn at our hands-on beauty school:

Hair design services-cuts, colors, foils, chemical texturizing, corn rows, wraps/bumps, up dos, braiding, flat ironing, curling and deep conditioning

Nail services-basic and spa manicures and pedicures, French polish application, artificial nail application, nail repair
Waxing services-brow, lip, chin, legs

Esthiology (skin care) services-spa facials, masks, make-up application

Minnesota School of Cosmetology (MSC) is accredited by National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences (NACCAS).

Minnesota School of Cosmetology's Woodbury location provides the student with a natural sense of artistry the opportunity to turn that style into a career in cosmetology. With a 50-year background in cosmetology-specific training, and experienced instructors, MSC works to help you develop into an experienced cosmetologist.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to educate, motivate and prepare our students for careers in cosmetology arts and sciences.

After successfully completing our program and passing the state board examination, the newly licensed cosmetologist, can be prepared for a variety of career options, including manager- operator, nail technician,cosmetic technician, competition or platform stylist, salon owner, or school instructor. This program is designed to prepare students to stay abreast of current trends in the field of cosmetology.

Instruction provides applied scientific and clinical skills training in the following:

  • Shampooing
  • Scalp and hair conditioning
  • Hair design and shaping
  • Chemical Hair Control
  • Hair coloring
  • Hair Styling
  • Facials and makeup
  • Manicures

The Woodbury and Plymouth campuses of Minnesota School of Cosmetology are accredited to award diplomas by National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences, INC.

Available space, facilities and equipment

Our school provides the spaces and equipment a student needs to complete the course in cosmetology: good lighting, hydraulic chairs, central air conditioning, separate working stations, student lunch room, student lockers, separate classroom area and a dispensary.

Academic advising
The staff provides academic advising for all students on a regular basis to discuss student concerns, progress, and grades.

Career Advising and job-search assistance 
All students are encouraged to visit our career center to review job listings and obtain career advice by our staff. The school will assist any student or graduate with the job-search process.
