Arizona State Board of Cosmetology License Requirements In order to obtain a license in Cosmetology, Aesthetics, or Nail
Technology in the state of Arizona, students must complete the
requirements listed below. Please contact the Arizona State Board of
Cosmetology for more information.
Requirements COSMETOLOGIST: 1600 hours AESTHETICIAN: 600 hours NAIL TECHNICIAN: 600 hours
Must have at least two years of high school education or its equivalent and be at least 23 years of age. Reciprocity In you come from another state licensure in Arizona may be accomplished
through license-for-license or by taking an examination. This requires
an application for reciprocity and an explanation of licensure
requirements. According the Arizona State Board, notwithstanding
sections 32-510, 32-511 and 32-512, a person is entitled to receive a
cosmetologist, aesthetician or nail technician license if:
- They submit to the board an application for a cosmetologist,
aesthetician or nail technician license on a form supplied by the
board.
- They submit to the board satisfactory evidence of either of the
following: (a) the person is licensed in another state or country or
(b) the person graduated from a school that offers a cosmetology,
aesthetics or nail technology course substantially similar to the
requirements of this state and passed the board approved cosmetology,
aesthetician or nail technician examination.
- Pays the prescribed fees.
