Florida State Board of Cosmetology License Information
In order to obtain a Florida cosmetology license, nail technology, or skin care, cosmetology students must complete the Florida cosmetology license requirements listed below. Please contact the Florida State Board of Cosmetology for more information.
Florida Cosmetology License Requirements
To receive a cosmetology license in Florida, students must obtain the following hours:
COSMETOLOGIST: 1200
NAIL TECHNOLOGIST: 240 hours
SKIN CARE: 260 hours
Reciprocity for Florida Cosmetology License
Given to those individuals holding a license from another state whose requirements are the same or more stringent than the cosmetology license in Florida. One such state is Pennsylvania. Hair Braiding registration is available in Florida (two day-16 hour course). Home Salons allowed.
