I am a former graduate of Capri beauty School, class of 1994. On Oak Forest, IL. I found out today that they are closing this school. First of all, this is their best school, these girls know how to do everybody's hair, the school they have in New Lenox (mostly white population) doesn't have half the skill that these girls in oak Forest have. New Lenox, IL really doesn't do much ethnic hair at all, I have had several friends go there to get their hair done to be told they are very disappointed with how that school does ethnic hair. Capri has never really put any attention into their ethnic clientele, that has never been something they have strived to do here in Capri Oak Forest, and even less in New Lenox, but the ethnic students that they have here at the Oak Forest location are really good, with all types of hair, they are pleasant, professional, just like the teachers that train them, and striving to get there cosmetology degrees. The teachers they have here, Ms. Sherry, Ms. Odessa and Ms. Lorraine are the best of the best! They really care about these students and give them one-on-one training, on all types of hair. I must say this school has always had a racial problem. Even when I went here in 94 they treated black and ethnic students like second class citizens. It is a shame that in 2025 Capri still has this problem. They gave these teachers and students very little notice, they have greatly inconvenienced the clients, students, and have let these great teachers hang out to dry, they have student loans that they have to pay back, and they are stuck now trying to figure out where they're going to finish getting their degree, Capri shame you! Miss Amy, you were not professional in 1994, and you're still not. It is so sad because this school deserves better, the students put their heart and soul into what they do here. You have a lot of ethnic customers that come here, and they spend good money here, they are very disappointed and I think because you have such a high ethnic clientele in Oak Forest that is the problem. I'm going to miss this school, the teachers, and the students, and so many ethnic women, men and children that come here, because people will travel to New Lenox, and I think that the high ethnic clientele is the main idea with your closing. Shame on you Capri!

Today was our 1st visit to Capri. The salon area was clean and the staff were pleasant. Big props to Julia who was my daughter's stylist. She did an awesome job on the cut and style. Also, thank you to the floor manager who came and gave me some tips on hair care and products. (Didnt get her name) We will definitely be back.

Wonderful Stylist Tachi, I'm so glad I decided to go. Students are eager to learn and appear to enjoy their task and the clients.
