I’d think twice before spending money on this school . Bad experience all the way around . Wasted lots of money and time .

This place certainly prepares you for the real world ahead of you and the programs that they offer here is amazing. I have another year here and it’s going to be a fun year. They also have opportunities available to those who find interest. Definitely recommend for anyone who’s a high school student or an adult.

I started cosmetology in 2022 this first year had some bumps, but the second year was where it got bad. Firstly when you would have an issue arise and speak to Jennie Crosslin she seemed to not be able to help in any way or she would say she’d help and do nothing about the situation. We had a serious bullying issue the first year and we came to her about it and absolutely NOTHING. Our instructor walked out randomly one day and never came back, along with leaving we lost multiple hours and most of our grades. I had to retake and redo the course book at least twice (keep in mind the course book we had was made to take two years and i finished it in one) because my grades i had weren’t solid enough proof that i had completed it apparently. Our new instructor, Amy Foreman, seemed to be stuck in the past ways of teaching and invalidated our feelings we had. She threatened to take 30 minutes out of our hours for walking out of the classroom 5 seconds before the bell rang even tho in those 5 seconds we were still in the salon (which i’m not really sure is even allowed) she also threatened to take hours off for wearing a hoodie when the classroom/salon was kept pretty cool the whole year even if we were there and accounted for the whole time. The employability grades are a JOKE they seem to be very student targeted, they are not based of professionalism but based off the feelings towards each student. I will also say that every single person in my class has had the same feelings as me. She wasn’t helpful about state board and taught us the wrong ways so we would go to mrs chastain and ask and she would get mad about it and take out points from employability. She made it a goal to make every single client we had uncomfortable by hovering and making negative comments. We were always rushed to do our services, she would dump her clients on to some of us without asking and letting us know beforehand even if we already had plans that day. She never answered her emails when we had important questions either. When i finally completed the program I had received my transcript only to find 86 hours left off of it. when i went in to ask my instructor why she told me that it wasn’t her problem and to talk to someone else. Which seems very unprofessional to me at least. Mrs. Davis was helpful in figuring out what went wrong and where those missing hours are for. She seemed to really advocate for me which i appreciated. All things considered i will definitely not be recommending this program to anyone. if they were set on this school id suggest making sure you are in mrs. chastains class.
