So far, my experience at this school has been amazing. Ms Daina the nail teacher, is so attentive and is so amazing when it comes to listening and engaging with the things we give feedback on. Teacher Daina Barrett is absolutely exceptional in the world of nails. Her talent isn't just visible in every design she creates, but also in how she shares it. She explains each technique with amazing clarity, breaking down the steps so even beginners can follow along. She's always ready to answer questions and offer tips and tricks that only a true expert could provide. Hollywood Institute was founded in 1989 to provide professional training and education to individuals interested in a career in health, beauty and wellness related career fields. Hollywood Institute is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) and approved by the U.S. Department of Education to provide Title IV Financial Aid to those students that qualify. We are licensed by the Commission for Independent Education (CIE), Florida Department of Education.

Throughout our history, we have strived, to continuously update curriculum and program offerings and upgrade equipment to better serve our students and have done so with the active participation of our graduates, faculty, staff, advisory board and employers.

We incorporate a variety of industry publishing leaders into our curriculum to improve student achievement by implementing the best instructional content.

Full Specialist

Program Length 600 hours
Average Completion 5 months
Program Tuition $9,020

The full specialty program combines care of the skin and care and beautification of the nails of the hand and feet. The program includes 292.5 clock hours of classroom training (Academic Instruction), and 37.5 lab hours (Practical Application) under the supervision of a Facial Specialist, Nail Technologist and/or Full Specialist licensed in Florida. The Full Specialty program is designed to qualify graduates for entry-level positions as facial specialist, estheticians, nail specialists, nail technicians, make-up artists, skin care consultants or related career fields; like salon assistants.

Cosmetology

The objective in the Cosmetology program is to train students in the skills needed to meet the competencies for the examination required by the State Board of Cosmetology. Using the Pivot Point approach to education, instructors train students to think and act like designers. Students learn the theory behind Cosmetology and the practical skills necessary to succeed in the Beauty industry.

The Massage Therapy program is designed to qualify graduates for entry-level employment in a Health Care setting, Spa environment or as an independent practitioner. Students are taught manual techniques to manipulate the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress; and to promote health and wellness. Topics include Anatomy, Physiology, Massage Theory, Florida Law, HIV/AIDS education, Hydrotherapy, Eastern and Allied modalities. Students gain hands-on experience through clinical applications and a positive learning environment that involves small classes.

This program is designed to train students in permanent hair removal by Electrology. The course is designed to give the students a thorough entry-level preparation to work in the field of Electrology. The modern short wave, blend, and galvanic methods are taught in small classes and students gain hands-on experience through clinical applications. Our Electrology program also educates students in the theory and practical application of laser and light-assisted hair growth delay.
