Editor's Description

Located about 20 minutes outside Baltimore, Paul Mitchell's Jessup location has been open for two decades and shows no signs of slowing down. This location offers training in cosmetology and barbering, and the program not only trains Future Professionals (what Paul Mitchell calls its students) but involves them in their communities through a variety of charity events.

Paul Mitchell—Jessup is at the forefront of modern learning, assuring students always have access to schoolwork, career advice, and more via their online services. They even provide an iPad in every student kit.

Their cosmetology program is split into three levels:

  • Core: Haircutting and styling and nail technology basics, among other introductory topics
  • Adaptive: Practicing skills in a realistic salon-like setting
  • Creative: Independent work, portfolio creation, test prep, and career preparation

They also offer an optional phase two, which involves advanced training in creative and business skills.
