My experience with KZ Academy has been nothing short of amazing! I was blessed to attend through a scholarship, and during my time there the Cosmetology Program transitioned to new instructors/team — I mainly worked with Pamela, Michelle, and Evelyn. Also got to work with the Esthi team Lalli and Selena! This team is incredible. Being part of the new cohort, we were all growing together, but the level of expertise, structure, and genuine support I received was tremendous. I’ve always heard things like, “You don’t really learn much in beauty school,” or “Just run your hours and figure it out later.” But at KZ Academy, that could not be further from the truth due to the new transition. The instructors and mentors truly want to see you win. They go above and beyond to create a detailed, organized schedule so you get the most out of every hour you put in. It was also pretty flexible and whatever we wanted to learn, they allowed us to through stages and levels. Pamela always wanted us to learn first before going through hands on, which is huge... bc we can be so eager to just start doing it all but learning the importance of theory through her made my journey more knowledgable. Her theory days are fun too, we did a jeopardy state board study time and she makes it fun with her slides and gifs! haha I was committed to starting strong so I moved my personal schedule to make it happen, the combination of structured theory days and hands-on practice made my entire journey so inspiring. I’m deeply grateful for this team. The positive, uplifting environment kept me focused and motivated — and because of that, I passed my state board exam on my very first try. KZ Academy also provides so many opportunities to continue learning. Even though the program is based on hours completed, they still welcome alumni back to continue their education. That’s what makes this school so special and stand out. They don’t just let you leave and figure it out alone — they allow you to return, grow, and refine your skills until you’re truly ready to spread your wings. That ongoing support after graduation is something I value so much. If you can, my suggestion is to try to at least attend once a week for hands on... you will learn way more and gain much more knowledge and connection with the team... if not good luck in your journey with them but they are there for virtual support too! If this review can allow you to rethink your beauty school journey and the stereotypes we hear and esp the experiences in the past, consider coming for you to experience it for yourself. The upgrade program has been such a blessing to my journey. Even if you are an alumni, they are there to help you. Doesn't hurt to reach out and see what they can support you in! Being at Kz academy for the time I was I watched a lot of improvement between the staff and the school in itself over all, the remodeling that happen made the school feel more welcoming and more professional, our main state board teacher Pamela was the best there is, she was helpful and hands on when it came to taking test and studying, she made sure you stayed focused and on track to getting your license, I would recommend this school to any barber/cosmo students looking for a program to enroll into!
