My name is Nancy
I really wish someone had shared their honest experience before I enrolled in this school. I saw many students leave upset at the beginning of my arrival, but at the time I didn't know why. Unfortunately, my experience here has been deeply disappointing. The owner lacks ethical practices and organization, and my genuine desire to learn seemed to bother her, which led to obvious poor treatment. She made it clear that she did not appreciate my willingness to talk, which created a hostile and stressful environment for me.
Initially, I wanted to get the oh Aesthetics eyelash extension license. But she convinced me to get my Manicurist/Esthetician license, and now I understand why—because she can push me to do nails my entire time in school, just like she did with other students. If he hadn't insisted on learning aesthetics, he wouldn't have taught me anything, and because I asked, I ended up on his bad list. I was paying to learn esthetics too, but I just wanted me to focus on nails. Even when I asked him to teach me the aesthetics part, which he only taught me a small portion of, I had to pay elsewhere to be taught more. I left with a lot of material not covered, and I could see the discrimination and resentment that developed simply for wanting what I paid for—nothing more, nothing less, just what was coming to me.
The school now operates without teachers in place, having fired the only good teacher it had. The owner is according to her master of everything. The owner promises comprehensive training but only delivers the bare minimum, often providing incorrect information. Instead of giving students the guidance and support they need, they expect you to figure it out on your own. His priority seems to be only money, as he rushes students through the program by falsifying hours, including those where you are not even present, to make it look like "you finish faster, not teach you, and keep your money." This not only undermines the education you are paying for, but also raises serious concerns about compliance with regulations.
Plus, it keeps students busy with nails all the time. If you're hoping to learn esthetics, be prepared to spend most of your time doing nails, as it has no esthetics instructors. If you try to talk about this, you will dislike them and expect retaliation.
I have left this school in tears several times due to the discrimination, stress, and unprofessional treatment I received. Finally, she asked me to leave her school just because I didn't attend two days after horrible treatment on her part. Someone recommended I take two days off to recover, which I did, and after that, she asked me to look for another school. At that point, she was just looking for any excuse. The owner even altered my hours without my consent, and I have seen this happen to other students as well. These unethical practices must be addressed, and I strongly believe that the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) should investigate this school.
To make matters worse, she openly gossips about every student and staff member, sharing inappropriate personal details. He manipulates students by promising them teaching positions upon graduation—a promise he seems to make to almost everyone. Their behavior and comments are often shocking and unprofessional.
I cannot recommend this school to anyone. If you are considering signing up here, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.
