I will say that for students they did great! Remember it is a school so you get what you pay for. I have not been here since I was a kid, needed a hair cut from what I butchered so thought I would give someone the experience since I remember how it was being in school. Let me say the stylist was great and even though it was her first haircut, she did a decent job. I had to wait an hour to be seated, ironically enough, the young lady doing my hair came in 30 mins AFTER I got there. I have a newborn at home so I was expecting the service to be long but not the wait time. It was clear the young lady or the gentleman who was helping her had no experience with my type of hair (4C) because they tried to detangle and cut it while dirty (with product) and dry. After getting assistance from another young lady and the owner, I thought we were on a great track. When the 2nd female instructor came over she helped the young lady even things out and fix the back. The service became uncomfortable when I noticed the sides were not even (I was getting a transition haircut, shorter sides and back than top). The young lady doing my hair tried to even it out and then she got the 2nd female instructor to assist, well after trying to fix it the instructor concluded that my hair was not uneven it was just “thick”. I tried to show her what I was referring to and it’s like she kept over looking it. The issue was that my sides were not cut evenly so it caused there to be an imbalance. The 2nd instructor basically gave up trying to fix it and told me that when I styled it would look fine. When you have natural hair and wear it in its natural state (curly) you can see all the imperfections especially when it is short like mine. When I got home I rinsed out all the cut hair, that’s when I knew for sure it was NOT even. When I went it my hair was cut uneven, when I left, the only difference was that it was now cut into a style …. But still uneven. The part that is most visible, the sides that are uneven. The longer side has more defined curls when product is applied and you can see a rounded transition. The shorter side has no super defined curls due to the length and it was a square transition. The issue is that they were looking at my hair blow dried and due to their inability to envision what it would look like I left feeling unheard and with a bad haircut.

First off I would like to say that this was my first time going to Sherrill's University but it will not be my last. From the time I walked in until the time I left I was treated with kindness and respect. The ladies at this school is very professional and love what they do. I have never seen such teamwork as these ladies have shown. They are amazing set of ladies and I would encourage anyone that has not been there to please go. Thank you so much Ms. Carson,Dani, Liana and my girl Destiny thank you ladies you are and epitome of what sisterhood is suppose to be I will see you all soon

If students are a reflection of their schooling, Sherrills should be closed. Period!
